Look at all these people who remember Bert....just one old grey horse, but with what a spirit. Thankyou Bridget.

Bye Bert, I am so grateful he had you and that his last days were as they should be, peaceful, safe, and happy. My thoughts are with you. Michelle

I'm very sorry for your loss of Bert, Bridget. He was such a handsome old man.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I am at a loss for words which is not usual for me.

As has already been said by all these others before me- Bert was a special boy. When others had given up on him- you gave him a second chance at life and what a wonderful, loving, comfortable last chapter in his life it was! He was loved by so many. Run free sweet boy!

I'm so sorry to hear about Bert.....I have a feeling he received more love in the last 18 months than he did during the rest of his life....thanks to you and your family for giving him that, and loving him enough to let him go when it was his time. You'll see him again someday, he'll be waiting for you.

Eddie and Pippa are doing pretty well in Bert's absense. Animals understand this death thing so much better than people do.

Bert will be forever missed and I know my family's, the horses he joined with, the mule, goats, Bridget and her family's, and all of the people that got to know him from reading about him or meeting him, all of these lives have forever been touched by Bert. He was very special and I can tell you, without a doubt, there was something very, very special about him. He had an intelligence that you felt to your soul. I have never in my life, or do I expect to, met a creature on this planet that had so much kindness within themselves. Bert made the world such a better place because of presence. I know the short time that we spent together changed me and reminded me of how expressing kindness helps heal your very own person.

Yes, he will be remembered for many heart-felt reasons by many of us who never even met him.

I'm so sorry. This is so hard to go through. If only all of the horses had someone like you to care for them.
