$725Chet is a 15.3hh 11 year old quarter horse gelding.. He was responsive in the halter and followed us around as we looked at the other horses. He has a blue color in his brown eye and we are not sure how blind he is in it if at all. He was very afraid of his surroundings so we did not ride him. He is Tatooed and has been raced because he has been pin fired. He has a wound on his back leg and was not sound on it because of it.. UPDATE 5/30/07 - Chet has calmed down while at Camelot Farms. He is broke and was used as a ranch horse. He is energetic and needs an experienced rider and a JOB. Time permitting, Chet will be ridden this week. imabirdmom... I'm not doing very well either. This poor guy looks like he has given so much and given so little in return.... not even enough time for a fighting chance. He has such an incredible face! All that is left is prayer. Laura

He deserves a place to retire if that's all that he has ahead of him. Some day I will buy some dumpy trailer house on some amazing acreage with a big warm barn and have a bunch of these sad guys.

I have never felt so helpless, if he ships I think I will have to take a break. I look at his face and I see my old ottb I lost last fall. I can't handle this!

There is money being raised on the TW board for the two remaining Geldings. It looks like they are getting really close. Hopefully everything will fall in place in time. It looks promising.

No news yet....once the truck is loaded and on it's way then Heidi and Deb can confirm whether they were able to pull them in time or not......they were supposed to start at 8, so hopefully they didnt' decide to get an early start if the driver was anxious to leave. It'll take a while, so probably no news until after noon......

Heidi had posted a message this morning saying that they were able to pull the listed horses. I don't think anyone has had time to breathe yet as far as which horse is going where. I hope that mickeyfan3 will be able to update us soon.

Something that article does not mention is that some trainers used to pinfire all of their horses as a "preventive measure". This means that even though the horse never had problems they pinfired the horse with the thought that it would keep an injury from occurring. modified to fix spelling
