Vanilla Bean came to Hytyme Equine Rescue from a cruelty case. She was pregnant and had a beautiful foal, who is already adopted. Vanilla Bean came to us with major trust issues but has worked through that nicely and has become such a nice gal. She is a very unique looking little horse and she has a pony personality, she is full of spunk! She is about 14.2 hh, we are thinking maybe 4-5 years old. She is stout and strong! VB is an extremely EASY keeper, she should not be kept on lush pasture. Vanilla Bean is now halter broke and is working on her ground work, she is willing and smart and ready for her new person to take her in any direction they want! She is getting ready for saddle training with our trainer. Vanilla Bean is very polite on the ground, she loves to be brushed and have attention. She trailers and stands for the farrier. She lunges on a line and free lunges. She is an easy keeper, has feet like rocks and has never had a sick day since we have had her. She gets along in the pasture with the other horses. Adoption Fee: $500.00 Contact hytymehorses@gmail.comfor more info. Vanilla Bean and the gals from Riggs Training @ NH training clinic. Vanilla Bean does very well with a person over her back for the first time.

I vote varnished Appy too, but she sure is looking more lovely as she grows up and fills out.

I thought she was mustang? Am I confusing her with another?

I only know she was not handled and very thin, as I remember from the photos. She was also kind of a very gawky looking youngster; she has filled out and is very lovely.

I think she's beautiful...on the feedlot, I immediately was drawn to her and her mother...who has a Roman nose...the mom went to Canada (unless that fell through during QT)...sigh...

Miss Vanilla Bean is doing fabulous! She has really blossomed! She filled out and has decided that being scratched is not so bad. She is all over Jim in the field and he can scratch her from head to tail (mostly she likes her hiney scratched!) She seems to be having a change of heart, what we do is very curious to her and she is always checking things out. She has a pony attitude and is not scared by much. We believe that if VB found her person now that she would open up like a blossoming flower ,so she is ready if someone wants to take the wiley little cutie pie on! Everyone is automatically attracted to VB so she is going to make someone a super cutie! Here is a new pic:

Do you know the brand? I think we all have a spot in our hearts for her. Wasn't she the one that the FLO stayed with during the night when she foaled?

I think you are remembering Basil, Vanilla Bean's mother, who foaled at the lot and went to live with MulesRule in Canada. Do you know the brand? I think we all have a spot in our hearts for her. Wasn't she the one that the FLO stayed with during the night when she foaled? NO!! It was Jim She foaled Baby Bean at Hytyme.

Ok what I remember is Vanilla Bean was at the lot with her mother Thyme, who foaled Basil on the lot. Weren't these girls off the rez and had not been handled??
Basil and Thyme were adopted together and VB ended up in a bad situation. Jim and Sherry took her in and gave her the best of everything, and she does look WONDERFUL!!
Whether she's off the rez or was abused, she will still be a good horse for the right person. Sounds like she has destressed properly and is ready for her special someone. Cordellia and Diamond are both completely turned around from their lot days now that they have their own moms to love them, and Baby Dyna is a pocket pony.
P.S. VB looks like she has better conformation then Thyme did. Shes really cute!

Yes she is a Rez pony and those are all the horses she came in with. She is doing great and it totally ready for a person to take her on. She loves scritches and is letting Jim touch her all over. She seems very curious about what is going on as we have major training going on right now with the fillies. She watches all of that. I think she would let Jim put a halter on her. ;D

Thanks for setting me straight! She will be a wonderful little horse for someone. Jim sure takes good care of his horses. She sounds like a good project for Jamie.
