So THIS is Brego! I missed this thread initially, and when icey talked about Brego I didn't know who this new mystery horse was. Wowza! Congratulations ~ I do hope I get to meet him up at Seabiscuit's ranch!
MTA: time to change the title of this thread to "BREGO!!! HUNKAHUNKABURNIN' LOVE!"

So Brego is coming along so nicely. If you read the Seabiscuit thread you will see that he went on that ride with no problems! Today he showed what a stellar horse he is. We had all the pony club girls over to ride the ponies and after I rode him a bit, he was being so quiet that I said, sure, you can use him too. The instructor agreed and 2 of the older girls rode him(with a western saddle) walk & trot. It was the most adorable site to see three of my ponies trotting around the pasture with the girls...oh why did I not have my camera? All the horses behaved, and I am just so proud of our little Brego...now I am going to have break him to the English saddle. What an absolutely, perfectly fun day

So today we trailered Brego over the the pony club arena(for the first time). He hopped right in and today was learn english day. So I put on an english saddle and rode him in the round pen first...seemed fine, then took him in with 5 other horses in the arena and we trotted over poles and he was taking everything so well. So two of the more advanced girls got to ride Brego today. He is still learning how to steer but he learns fast, and is so sweet:) Here is a pic from my camera phone of one of the girls riding him.

Cynthia, totally amazing! You have done a great job with him. No way would I have guessed on that Seabiscuit ride that he had less than 30 days under saddle!!! He was better behaved than most of the horses!
Have fun with him. You obviously have a nice PC horse in the making! See you at a rally!

It's been awhile since I updated Brego's thread. He is my sweet little baby. I've only ridden him a few times in the last few months because I was doing most of my riding on my friesian. Mostly we've just ridden around the pasture, but I did take him over a couple cross rails at the ponyclub arena. Well, today we went on our 2nd real group trail ride...5 of us girls took our horses to a really nice trail in Novato and we rode for a solid 2 hours. For the most part it was a pretty easy trail ride, but Brego had to learn alot of new things all at once. For instance, people passing on bikes, people and dogs, people walking with canes, going down some Really steep hills, and then creeks. Well that was the big one for me cause I'm not a jumper...but he jumped about 10 creeks...everytime we came up on one I thought, oh god not again, but I got in position(at least I've read alot of magazines about proper jumping position) and we sailed away...That little guy can get some air!! Well, he only bucked once and other than that he took it alll in stride...no spooks, which is surprising cause he can be spooky. I was soooo proud of him, and myself for staying on!! He's gonna make a great little trail horse. I am already unbelievably sore. So much fun:) Oh and we cantered for the first time under saddle..not on purpose though.
