I may be wrong, but I think dog8 is looking for bail assistance. I assume Showboy is still listed as "available" because she isn't an outright adopter. If this is the case, maybe she can pay the bail and we or TWR can help with qt/transport instead. Again, I may not know what I am talking about (usually the case...)

Oh also, does anyone know if he is getting a riding assessment? I'll pay for that if it's not set up yet - I guess we only have 20 minutes, though.

thank you I already paid for the riding assessment. That's a great idea about helping with the qt if I pay his bail... with only $250 left I can do that! As soon as his vet and riding assessment are done I'll pay his bail if we can continue to raise money for the QT! thanks cassandra

OK....I decided to start tracking the donations again like I did on the older boards...and mickeyfan3 will check the actual donations through CBER to make sure everything is properly paid...
Pledges/Donations are listed at the beginning of the thread...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
mydog8it- you are doing great! I think that I may have missed a donation somewhere...I show that Showboy still needs $300, but I know your posts say you need $250...which is correct?
Also, when you have time, let's start a thread for Fern so we can get caught up on her, OK?
I am not quite sure about this, but I think there are two people interested in Showboy...mydog8it and a second person not on the BB....I believe that the unknown person is the one who backed out...and the money for Showboy was pledged to mydog8it, who was looking for support...the money not necessarily going to Showboy, but to mydog8it.
I could be totally incorrect about this, but this is how I took it when I read this thread.
NO "mydog" backed out after the vet check revealed that a 20 year old ex-racehorse horse may have lameness issues in his rear leg.
Does he have arthritis or old injury? Zephyr (not OT, but "well-used") has some arthritis and an old injury in his hock with some limited flexion, but has stayed sound longeing at walk/trot.
Was Showboy ridden?
I'm sorry, he failed his vet check, the vet was very definate that he would not be suitable for our uses. There was no riding assessment done because he was lame, so I don't even know if he would be suitable for my husband/kid either. With very limited room I can't take on a pasture pal or light rider. I had really hoped since he displayed sound originally that he would be in good shape... it's to bad that there was so little time... I am willing to help out though, of course we became emotionally attatched to him already He might be fine with some time... please help him! I am paypaling the $300 I was planning on using for QT (this includes the $50 from my friend.) (my husband could possibly kill me ) Also when he gets to a home/sponsor I will pay for an xray if wanted I feel horrible, a very hard decision... cassandra
