18 - 20 year old, 16h, chestnut TB/AQHA cross gelding. He is shod but rode like a hot horse. He is very nervous in his surroundings and seems like a very sensitive horse. He would not be suitable for an inexperienced rider as he was pretty hot and a bit herd bound but a little bit of work and a steady program and this horse should make a great riding horse. Sound at time of assessment and has one front shoe on. I'm sure under different circumstances, and in a different place, he would ride better. Can't be fun to be there. I like him.

I agree, swissgrl. The stress must take a toll on these poor horses. Tiger is built nicely and looks good under saddle even in these circumstances.

Would we be able to put a woman rider up? Because if that is the case...knowing ahead of time would probably help

I'll bet he was a barrel racer, calf roping, or gaming horse. . .and, I bet he'd get the job done!

I hope someone is interested in this great guy. I fear this is the type of horse we could "lose" unexpectedly with no notice.

No normal horse would ride without a hitch in a feedlot setting. Some of my BEST horses would send you to the moon if you tried to catch and ride them in a scary setting like the feedlot. This was one of my choices until the younsters jumped on my heart hard. If someone is interested, please don't let the write up scare you! He did not KILL the rider, right? Big, scary rider man with a heavy western saddle......PLEASE give him a chance!!!!! Look at his eyes!!!

He's gorgeous.....too bad our old female rider, Cindy, is unavailable for a while.....would be interesting to see how he rode with a woman. I think with the right owner, trainer, and program he'd be awesome. Could also just be completely freaked out in his surroundings.

Kelly, you were sent by angels here. You personally enabled 2 of mine to be saved and everyone sees how hard you are working for each of the others. Your energy is driving me as well. The trouble with the feedlot is the amounts of money needed and the space needed and after 2 years most of us on this board are severely tapped out. Everyone really is doing the very best they can. It is hard to stay and watch the ones we miss. I will disappear from the boards from time to time because I cannot handle not being able to save them all. When I get an opening I look all over, but always return here because this is where the very best horses have come from. So, the $1k trailer fee really is not an issue when the horses are hardier, eat less, never need shoes, etc. Sit tight.....maybe someone will glance on this boy and know a way to help

Apache, I too probably will drop out of sight for a time after this round. I am not rich by any means ($$ wise, but I am full of love) and will need to replentish my savings account.
So if there is anyone out there who can still help us out while we are still around (you know, strike while the iron is hot), you'd be our heros forever! Kelly
