10 yr, 16.1+h, bay TB gelding. This gelding tattoo starts with a "C". He is big stout gelding! He is also very friendly and wants to please. He has a pretty easy going attitude for being a TB. He has an old bow but it was cold and set. The bow might stop him from being a jumping horse but he would most likely be fine for trail riding. With the mellow disposition he has he might be great for a husband horse? Please contact Hillarie EMAIL:hillariesinger@aol.com for more info!!www.columbiabasinequinerescue.org/DEF-HorsesProfile.asp?HoID=1126BAIL AMOUNT: $800 QT FEE: $300 HAULING FEE: $ 30 PAYPAL FEE: $ 34 ________________ TOTAL FUNDS NEEDED: $1164 HOMEOFFERS:
PLEDGES/DONATIONS: djrepp has offered $150 payment towards QT towards the first TB gelding to be adopted.

He is a pretty boy. I have an 16yr OTTB with a bow. I use him for eventing and have never had a problem with it. It's just something to keep an eye on but wont necessarily limit them especially at the lower levels.

He looks a lot like a Jazzing Around Boy. Can Sam read the tattoo and I will run it. I am telling you that a lot of horse people are afraid of TB's but Hue Grant has completely changed their minds. Everyone is fighting over him. I am very close to rehoming him or I would take this boy.

He is a very beautiful horse. He looks great going western. Look at all that mane and tail and how pretty his head is. He will be someone's best friend! He should do well with flat work and trails. It is not that difficult to get these horses going nicely. A woman at the barn is putting the work in on Hue and Kate has been very helpful in advising her on what to do with him. Please someone, look at this beautiful boy and/or all the other TB's. He looks like he has had good care. If the bow is discouraging anyone, my vet would be happy to discuss bows with you! PM me!

As far as the bow goes, how well he will do over time would also depend on how well he was cared for when the initial bow happened. I would guess he has been off the track for 5 years and been in someone's pasture. They kept him because they loved him and are now facing great financial difficulties. Some of the TB farms in Washington are going through financial difficulties at the present time. All of these horses have been pets and now are in the run for their life. I will e-mail my friend a picture of the bow, and see what he has to say based on the picture.

This guy has pulled at my heart strings since the first time I saw his photo. I am not sure that I am ready for another horse yet but I cannot stand the thought of him shipping. I really need to think about this but if no one else is offering and he is in danger of shipping, I will seriously consider taking him.
I need to talk to Michelle but I will stay in touch with you'all today.
If you need to contact me the best way is on my cell at 707-696-1371.

Lou, thank you so much. I'm in the same boat, I keep coming back to his page, there is just something about him. If it wasn't for the 5 I already have, and paying training on 2 of them.... I would be thinking about taking him too. I hope it works out for both of you.

Kate,
He is beautiful and does look like your beautiful girl Rhiannon. I am very nervous after making this offer. My biggest concern is that I am not yet ready after losing Betrys.
That said, my other concern is that I am looking for a first riding horse. I am not an experienced rider and when I do get my next horse, I would like one that will to help me learn.
Most of all, I want to do the right thing for Aragon.
I have not heard from the folks at CBER yet on my application so it may be a moot point.
Lou

Lou--
In memory of dear Betrys, I will donate 30 days board and training at my place if you decide to take him. That will save you enough $$ to cover shipping from WA to CA.
I have evented many horses at the upper levels with old bowed tendons. It is common and often doesn't present a problem (it's a thickening of the flexor tendon where it was stretched/torn). One thing to ask is whether it is a "high" bow or a "low" bow (high bows are best).
We have a barn potluck scheduled again for May 17th, so mark your calendar!
Katie

Use that 'ole intuition you got!! Anyway...once you push that button the horse is as good as on the road to Harvest Moon in Northern California - not because you CANT change your mind...but because you know you WONT...hehe. And you are someone who knows how to make a committment. Me...I break out in a rash. And how can you learn anything from a horse that doesnt exist in his body anymore. Yesser....TB's are REAL horses...you will learn ALOT. We will soon be the HMR matched drill team. ;D

Lou, I don't want to be a total enabler, but just so you know: if your heart isn't ready to bond to this lovely guy, you know there are lots and lots of us around who will give him lots of love on your behalf until your heart is ready ... though from experience I can tell you that the heart becomes ready as soon as it is met with someone who needs your love ... No matter what happens, I'm crossing my fingers for this beautiful boy.
