what a beautiful girl The adoption fees keep going up though it makes it real hard to look at these horses knowing that the high fee puts them out of reach for many.

Agreed, but when I first started donating to CBER in November 2005, those horse's bail was in the $750-$900 range. The first horse I bailed was a TB mare named Fancy, and she was $750 in November 2005, almost 2.5 years ago.
I don't know of anything that has gone down in price in the last 2 years.

The prices don't surprise me............I paid $850 for Doodle in 9/06 and he is a little 15h horse. Lotti was $800 in 2/06 and she is a 16h big beefy QH.........sometimes it doesn't necessarily make sense. What does make a difference is the cost of QT - I'm not arguing with the 'why' of it, just that I might not have taken mine of I had to pay an additional $300 for each of them. I don't disagree with the policy, and totally understand why it is there - it's a sign of the times..............

and here I was thinking that as long as my horse is in QT I am saving money! I pay way, way more a month for my horse for food and board than the cost of QT...

This girl is SO REGAL! Even with blurry pictures- she has a presence about her. I tend to think the prices are high-considering the price of horses in general has dropped so much lately. I know we can't change the bail placed on their heads- but it makes it harder to place them for sure.

Well I did pay 775.00 for Aphrodite from the lot 2 years ago but then the horse prices in general were much higher. Now in the area you can pick up a registered broke horse for less than 800.00. This lot compared to SOS the other lot his double the price. The price of meat is the same...

How do I bump her to the top. She is stunning! If anyone in the Seattle area takes her and needs some help, I will pay Trisha to put a few rides on her and instruct the new owner if they need any help. She is a very pretty horse.

No real news yet...
I hope everyone is OK too...
I remember back when CBER first came on the Internet and Sam made a trip to the lot...and all the CBER horses were gone...Ceres, Chancel, Circe, Fresca, Gibson...all without warning. It was devastating.
There is always the possibility that if the FLO is counting on the CBER horses to fill his load, and we adopt enough them, he might have to cancel the truck! It has happened before, much to our delight....I hope it happens again.

I think that Liberty is the most at risk horse...she's big, healthy and doesn't have an adopter or safe haven...not enough in donations to help her either.
