Hi guys, I was talking to my vet and he had NO idea that even FAMOUS TB's had been slaughtered....Anybody have copies of stories, info on this I can share?  He is really into TB's and needs to be aware of this........ Thanks! Chel |

Wasn't there one they just found at New Holland? Let me check a couple of other sites and get back to you... Here's the link to one article: www.lfhr.org/pr/prgreener.htmApparently a 1/2 brother to Kentucky Derby winner Charismatic was found and rescued at a kill lot. His name is Squall Watch. Very sad indeed... Doesn't LOPE in Texas also have a lot of thoroughbreds listed for adoption from the tracks and trainers? (Lone Star Outreach to Place Ex-Thoroughbreds)...they are a rescue for thoroughbreds. I look through their ads every now and then...a grandson of Secretariat was listed for adoption just a couple of months ago...very nice looking chestnut gelding, with 3 white socks (like his granddaddy!). They have some really nice looking T-breds. These aren't at feedlots or anything...just listed for adoption and placement into new homes. |
