sorry I need to vent..

ok so I rescued 2 horses out of a horrible barn last april.
these horses were a score of 1.

I also rescued the young owners at the same time. They were being threatened by the people that ran the place. The horses were not being fed even though board was paid.

So I go in with the sheriffs dept, because I knew those people are crazy. I get the horse out ok and hide them at my place. one of the young owners was assulted and had to get a restraining order against them. they also repeatedly claimed they were going to come and take one of the horses back, basicly steal her. A judged ordered them to stop claiming that and they had no legal right to the horse.

fast forward to last month. Both horses are doing great and gaining.. Then one horse dies, fast. You may remember my posts about Dallas as possible ehv-1 and then we learned it was poison.

Yes you heard me poison. And it wasn't an accident. The main people as suspect were, you guessed it, the old barn people. The very night that the info got out that the horse was poisoned the main suspects pack up and leave town.. the family that is left are saying that they kicked them out.. hhhmmm conveniant...

they are changing the barn name too now.. and ads are posted on craiglist. It angers me to no end that I work so hard and barley get by at times and these people keep going on and on. they are like thingyroaches. they may say that the trouble makers are the ones that left but these are the same people that were caring for the horses then and will be now. so how is it to change for the better. they stood by and helped in the abuse and neglect.

It also angers me that there are people that will defend them....THEM!!!!! these people were banned from local gymkhanas for fighting, abuse and drugs... HELLO....

are people that blind sometimes?

oh and get this.. the new name is very close to another stables name the post on the same craigslist.

I posted a reply to someone who was warning people that they were the same barn and to bewear.. mostly beacause they have a history of taking money for lessons and then not giving the lessons..

My post is flagged down... sheesh..

sorry for the rant. just makes me wonder why I care sometimes

This is a terrible story. How did these people get access to the horses in order to poison them?

What disturbs me is this that the horses were starved "even though board was paid."

Even if the board weren't paid, the horses should be cared for.

Shame on these people. I hope they are arrested, tried and convicted and go to jail.

And I hope the owner of the poisoned horse sues and collects.

the stables is in el sorbrante, ca
it was and still is run by a family of seedy people with drug history, eventhough they say it is new managment. They also claim to own the place which is not true by a long shot, real owner doesn't care.

they will not be arrested. AC in this county only cares that they can see food on the property, and if you tell them a line like, oh it is a rescue that excuses you with out proof. THey claim to be a non profit but that can't be true. so even though they have a stack of hay in the front that is out in the rain and strange color they are fine. I am looked at more then these people.

In fact when the young owner took pictures of her horse to AC to show what they did to them AC told her that only she would be fined and not the barn people. Again the barn people attacked her when she came to see her horses near the end. They would just all of a sudden deside they didn't like you and horse starts to suffer. No barns would let her move her horses because now one wanted these people mad at them, she was stuck.

at my place if you really want to get in you can. the neighbors keep an eye on the place for me but they can't see everything.

All the horses here get the same food, fed by the same buckets, let loose in the same arena, which she wasn't for a week before this due to rain. SO why just her, that is what the state lab said.

when the necropcy came back as toxin it was narowed down to rat poison. all the neighbors said they don't poison rats due to all the stray cats up and down the road we don't need it.

this same barn has also been connected to other suspisious horse deaths, never any proof, but plenty of motive and prior threats.

they were banned from local gymkhanas all last year from a last straw inccedent the year before for abuse, drugs and a massive fight that brought the police.
