Hello! IRIS, sosequines.com/feedlothorse-iris.html, needs help! We have been networking and trying to find her a home but to no avail!! And unfortunately, the slaughter truck is leaving early tomorrow morning! We simply CANNOT let her ship to Mexico! We would like to try raise her bail of $400 plus one month of board/qt $300, so that we can continue to try to find her a loving home!! We have $60.00 raised so far...so we still need $640.00 So please if you can help in anyway such as getting the word out ASAP, offering her a home, or even donating towards saving her from the truck it would be much appreciated!! Our paypal addy: sosequines@gmail.com Or if you are interested in providing IRIS a home, please contact Hillarie at hillariesinger@aol.com for more info.

$400.00 for bail and $300.00 is for QT for the first month. $60.00 is already raised, that leaves $640.00.
I can't beleive she has no home offers, she looks like a sweet, well trained girl. I'll send something for her.

The SOS board is showing more donations. I think it may be the intermediate rider thing that is scaring adopters. Most people who are looking at a horse that age are seeking a baby sitter type.

Some donations have come in from the ABR board and SOS board. It looks like $360 is still needed.

I'll kick in $50.00 in celebration of the life of Carol Winterburn.
I have to feed and muck here, so if you'll tell the board, anyone, thank you! And if it isn't used for this horse, then please kick it in for the next in need.
To paypal to: sosequines@gmail.com tonight when I'm done feding and mucking here.

Two absolutely completely different rescues. This bulletin board is for all rescues and is not dedicated to any specific one. SOS is in Eastern WA and is run by Shawna, not by Dean.
PS. Dean has never had any horses seized.

The only issue I have with SOS is that they seem to be still heavily involved with CBER. The three people running it were all still listed as CBER volunteers before their website went down, and Kirsten appears to be placing ads for both CBER horses and SOS horses. I do not see how SOS is a "different" rescue if the people running it are still part of CBER. Since that appears to be the case, I cannot support them.

I just love how helping Iris has turned into yet another PEC accusation. Can we please take this arguement elsewhere? And FYI- placing ads for any rescue is time consuming and VERY helpful. So what if the ladies who run SOS place ads for CBER? If horses are getting saved THEY ARE GETTING SAVED. Come on people....

SOS Equines is a separate rescue from CBER. The difference is that Shawna, Kirsten and Hillarie have a say in how SOS is run, where the money goes and how it is spent. I myself would not hesitate to donate money to SOS. That said, Shawna, Kirsten and Hillarie help save CBER horses too, but they do not run CBER. CBER is a separate rescue. I commend S, K and H for not abandoning horses anywhere. As women tussle on the internet, those horses on those lots are depending on all of us. The women of SOS just want to save horses, and do their best to walk the line of fire. Em The only issue I have with SOS is that they seem to be still heavily involved with CBER. The three people running it were all still listed as CBER volunteers before their website went down, and Kirsten appears to be placing ads for both CBER horses and SOS horses.
