Here is a new picture of Cash with my kids Erica & Conner. They wanted a picture taken with him. I must say that this is the BEST little guy. I could not have picked out a better match. We are sooo in LOVE with him

Here is a picture of Cash with his new buddy Dixie. She is the only horse we have that doesn't want to eat him. All the others are so mean to him. Tomorrow he gets his hooves trimmed. He is doing great, he let's me pick and rasp all four hooves soo hopefully he does good for the shoer.

Ok, everything turned out GREAT. He is sound, just has a little bit of a club foot/deformed foot. His hoof is shorter on the inside than on the outside. Vet just wants us to keep an eye on it and look for changes. She thinks that his legs were proubly sore from having them trimmed. He goes back in two weeks for the hernia surgery.

Just a little update, he is doing great. He is doing very well with lunging, today I put a saddle pad on him, he could of cared less. So then I put the saddle pad on his neck, under his belly on his butt and his front and back legs he just watched me do it. Can throw the lead rope all over him and around his front and back legs. So then I put the bareback pad on and lunged him and again he just trotted around the round pen. He is a great horse he has really grown, starting to get to that funny stage. His butt is taller then his withers. Yesterday him and my Morgan broke into the hay shed and Cash was standing inside in ankle deep hay looking at me like I hope you can't see me, so know we have a pad lock on the shed. I will get pictures next time I work with him. I only work with him a couple times a week, it's been really hot and I think at his age as long a he is respectful and does all the basics, most important is for him to be a horse before we start too much training.

Update on Cash. He is a very fast learner. We have most of the ground work done. If the weather stays the same I hope to have a saddle on him in the next few weeks and start poning him around our place. We go for walks down the street, its great for him lots of dogs barking and cars go by, so far it doesn't bother him. He is getting taller but still looks like a baby (so cute). Very very mellow going to be a great tril riding horse. I am not going to start riding him till summer or the beging of fall 2008 I (if I can wait) don't want to rush him, he won't be 2 till Jan 08. Here is a cute picture that we took today.

Just a little update. We had his surgery done. He was very scared and upset when I picked him up. He could not get in the trailer fast enough. He had lots of swelling from the gelding because he had to be stalled for three days and no hosing to give the stitches time to heal. The spot where the skin was removed looks great, still after one week he has a swollen sheath its getting better now that I can exercise him. So one more week of light working and then back to normal.

Bending carrots into hugs for this boy.
I hate when any of our babies are in pain.

Glad things went well. I bet your glad it's done (althought he might not agree right now!). You can't help but feel bad for the poor guys after something like that! Can't wait to hear more training updates on him this summer;) !!

Stitches are out as of last weekend. He was really good my husband and I removed them. He is still draining but all the swelling is gone and he feels so much better. He is even feeling a little spunky he ran away when I went to fly spray him. I will get some pictures of him tomorrow. He is so pretty and is starting to grow up I hope to have a saddle on him within the next few mo. but no riding till fall or later. He is very immature and just turned 2. He has such a good mind I don't want to wreck it by pushing too much.

Today was a big day for Cash I saddled him up to see what he would do and boy can that little guy buck He was very calm (as usual) when I put on the pad and the saddle. Just stood there when I cinched him up but when I sent him in a circle in the round pen oh my gosh. He only bucked for a short time because I had the lung whip and made him work. He is a lazy little guy and has decided that running is to much work. Here are some pic. after the big day.

New update on Cash. We are soooo glad we did not have to sell him. Put the saddle on again today and my husband layed on his back and I walked him around and he did nothing just walked ;D. My daughter is now taking English lessons and I will start soon so our hope is for him to be a horse that we can train for English/Quadrill for her in the next few yrs. I think he is going to be one of the best horse we have. He is very calm and level headed just a great little guy except I don't think he is going to stay little. He seems to be growing again I would like him to stop growing up and go wider but we will see. Him mom was a nice big chunky quarter horse. Tina
