[glow=red,2,300]Congratulations eirualaerdna ![/glow] Our beloved little Bird is going to be a Cali horse! ( Can I use the "I can't get her in the trailer" excuse when the time comes)? I am truly going to miss her. She has many Aunties on here looking after her ;D Ok, so she's a little tubbier than when she was on the lot ;D This is one great little horse! Vet checked sound. She's 4. 14 hands UTD on everything. All shots, wormer and feet. She has a sweet personality and is green but calm. She has never run off, reared or bucked. She has superb conformation with a nice shoulder and moves very forward with nice extension. She needs a loving forever home!!!

Someone please look at this little horse. She is so wonderful and needs a home of her own! PEC has done a nice job with her, and she has only known love since she has been there. She has her own special human friend there who gives her special love!!!!!

what's her adoption fee? I was just talking to a gal that is looking for a rescue or two to put in her brand new barn. Birdy is one of my favorites....so I'd be jealous but able to visit her.

I'm only asking $450.00. She just had ALL her shots and flu nasal done yesterday. Feet are awesome so she's good to go!

I did a flyer on Birdie and handed it out to my Riding Club meeting tonight (OPRC) there were 3 Pony Club Leaders there, so the flier got into the right hands. So, hopefully someone will get interested in the filly, and help spread the word. One thought there is a national rally for several day for Pony Clubber up in Portland at the end of the month maybe I can get some flyers to that event also. Trying to get the world out..

Birdie's in Kent, WA. I'm here in Cali by the bay and have adopted 2 horses from WA. It's really not too far. Transport can be a bit pricey, but I got a good deal and paid about $350 for the first horse. I think I paid $380 for the second horse, she came down several months later.

Caryn, do you think you could help me figure out how to get her sent down here? If she's still available, she's exactly what I'm looking for, but I have no experience with transporting animals.
PEC, do you own this horse? Who do I need to contact, and is she infact still available?
Please email truthresideswithin@gmail.com if she is available and if anyone can help me transport, and to talk about anything I need to do/know before adopting her. THANKS!

Thanks =) I'm hoping too. But you know, if it's meant to be it will be. She's gorgeous (fantastic body!!), and I love that she's little. I'm so small I have to get a step to groom most horses lol She's the ideal match for me (from what I know), and I haven't been able to get her out of my head. She would definately be one very loved, probably spoiled, and very happy horse if she ended up with me. By the sound of it, she's very deserving too... If she's not meant to be my horse, I really, really hope that she finds the best home possible.

Yup, "PEC" is the lady to talk to regarding Birdie. Her real name is Dean and she runs Pacific Equestrian Center. They do a lot of rescues and take excellent care of the horses. Please send her a PM (private message) in case she doesn't see your post. She also has a website: www.pacificequestriancenter.com with more info. Here's a link to the page with available horses and adoption application forms: www.pacificequestriancenter.com/horsesforadoption.htmlAs far as transport goes, Lori Wright hauled both my horses down here. Like i said, she was great and I was totally happy with my horse's condition when they arrived. She used to do several trips down to Cali a month, so I didn't have to wait to long. Oooohhh, just looked and Lori's coming down soon Please see her thread listed under "Transportation Resources" : rescuesonly.proboards59.com/index.cgi?board=trans&action=display&thread=1168448939WOOHOO!!! I hope you get to bring Birdie home If I can help with anything, just send me a pm - Caryn

I have bad news, and I have good news. BAD NEWS: I don't think I can take Birdie anymore GOOD NEWS: the reason I can't is because a friend of mine dropped a slaughter-lot rescue in my lap today. She's a beautiful palamino mustang 5yrs old. I was given her because I have time to take care of her and train her, and they couldn't find a place for her that had experience enough to take her besides with me on such short notice. She's not even broke yet. I'm still going to try for adopting Birdie if possible. There IS a possibility still! I'm working on it...

oh, absolutely! I'm hoping to take pics of her soon! At the moment, it's so cold in the hills that the water trough keeps getting frozen =/ so I might have to wait until it's not so darn cold! I'm going to have my friend (she's learning to ride) take pics when it's warm enough for me to start her. I'm using the monty roberts strategy to start her, I'm sure you've heard the name?

With all that hair and those hook-tipped ears, Birdie looks like a Mustang herself! Really nice looking girl. I would say yes she is. Those very curved ear tips are a spanish trait as well as the sturdy bone structure. My stang has a nice combination of color traits too. They are wonderfully adaptable horses who can and do excell at almost any discipline.

I only assumed she was a mustang from her conformation and ears. I never thought to ask though. Haha. Mustangs are among my absolute favorites and you named a few reasons why. My roommate thinks her ears are adorable =)

Hey, I feel dumb asking this.. but she's in between pony and horse size now, and I'm thinkin she MIGHT grow a little more, but not much... should I get her a horse size bridle or a pony size one? I don't know cuz I've never had to buy tack for a pony/horse before :x

WOOHOO!!!! Congratulations Eirualaerdna! Birdie sure is a cutie I'd say go for the horse halter. I have a little mustang (about 13.3) that I adopted last year and the horse halter (rope) looks a little big, but it's way better than one that is too small and totally functional.

Wonderful news she is a real cutie.. If you liked Birdie you should take a peek at Eliza... columbiabasinequinerescue.org/DEF-HorsesProfile.asp?HoID=36I think she should be coming 3. Perhaps a bit taller then listed by now, and she did come in with (possibally related to?? ) Margie, a fatt butt look a like who turned out to be a level headed mustang, and an awesome riding horse.
