This is Shannie who came off the lot last September, she was bailed along with her foal by a very kind lady and her daughter in CA. Once she is adopted we can reiumburse that lady and she may recycle the money to rescue another. I have had them for 9 mos, the first pics are when they first arrived at my house. They were thin, hungry, malnourished, wormy and getting sick with strangles. My husband and I nursed them thru all that and then weaned the foal this spring, he is being gelded this Friday. We are planning on keeping him for now as he almost died when he was first here and we are attached to him. He is now halter broke and friendly and we will get new pics soon of him. Shannie was recently put on pasture here with some new friends. I am hoping we can find Shannie a good home now. Shannie is healthy and sound and just had her feet freshly trimmed and has been just wormed again. The farrier said she has really good feet, hard- and good hoof wall, not like many TB's! She is an incredible mover and has beautiful suspension at the trot when animated. She could easily be a dressage prospect. She is a sweet tempered mare and will automatically pick up her feet for the farrier, etc. She has a lip tattoo that is a bit hard to read, but it looks like it begins with a"U" which would make her a 1991 mare or 15-16 yrs old, so she was at least track broke at one time. Lovely mare with beautiful head and neck and very flashy. I am not asking anything for her care, which we provided for, but her original bail price would need to be paid to give to her original "saviour".

I am still looking for a home for this lovely mare. I do have some pics of her foal now too, can someone post them for me? He is doing great and was recently gelded almost 3 weeks ago, never swelled or had any problems from the procedure and did fantastic! I am hoping to get some pics this next weekend of her moving, as she is so lovely. Please pass the word around on this gorgeous mare! Thanks

This mare is one of my favorites. It's amazing how much they can be part of your life and not ever have even met them(these rescue horses). I was at the fair the other day watching the races and I always like to look at the horses before they run-Anyhow, picked this beautiful TB because he looked like Shannie, well, he came in first, 3 lengths ahead of everybody...too bad my daughter had to go to the bathroom and I didn't have time to bet on him.

Heidi - I posted a photo ad for Shannie on Bay Area Equestrian Network today. The contact is your email address.
Please let me know if you get any "hits" from my ad!
The title reads: BIG-BODIED TB MARE SPORT HORSE PROSPECT, and I used the bottom photo in post #18.

Try a "spotlight ad on Horsetopia" I have been posting ads for the feedlot horses, they allow you four pictures and it boosts the ad to the top of the search. Has been working pretty well.
