So does this mean that Storm Cat is her DAD? MTA: is that her reg. name? Kitty Cat?? can we get info on her if that is her reg. name? like bloodlines and all, that would help a LOT with finding her a home!

I made up the name Kitty Cat for her because there was no name given with her description. I don't know what her registered name is.

Was looking at Storm Cat's pedigree and progeny listings, he sired 33 bay or dark brown females in 1993.
Wish we could find out who this mare is !!

Call Chuck and ask him to read the tattoo. He might do it for us............I don't know if Jeff or Sam can make it over or not.

He's sired 1,000's of horses. His breeders are part of the problem.
With no proof of identity, I think that would be a waste of time.
Having dealt with the largest TB breeder in California related to asking for help with resucing some of their runners .... the first question was, "Well, was it a Stakes Winner?".
The answer was "Yes!", meaning the horse not only was a runner, but a winner and a STAKES WINNER ... and they still wormed their way out of helping.

In other words, we can't publicize who the irresponsible owner is. There was a famous race horse last year - Espresso who was saved by Julie Bridge and there was an article in the Seattle Times on June 10. I thought we could contact either Julie or the writer of the article?? What does anyone think? The writer was Jerry Brewer: 206-464-2277 or jbrewer@seattletimes.com.
Maybe Julie would know another horse person wanting to save this special mare??

Once again, I can offer a back-up home for 2 or 3 horses if their funds get raised - I would pay for transport to SD after QT if they don't get adopted by then.

Storm Cat babies often make GREAT eventers, due to their athleticism and agility. Unfortunately, his lines have been consistently overbred, so there are a lot of them out there. These girls look VERY nice.

Okay guys lets not go crazy. Chuck said the mare with the short back (Kitty Cat) is sired by something Cat. I said Storm Cat? He said yes. Yesterday I contacted the owner and he was PISSED but would sell the papers for $100 for each horse. I also asked if one of the mares was a Storm Cat line. He said no, one was Silver Lining bred. So until they are bailed and the papers are bought this is all speculation. Again, who knows what breeding these horses have we have all learned that you can not 100% go off anything in feedlot rescue til you have the proof in your hands DO NOT CONTACT STORM CAT'S OWNER, do not contact any owner as this man stated to me if he has any troubles or is contacted by anyone other then Chuck he will insist all the horses from here on in are slaughtered. I spoke with the guy and I can tell you by the tone of his voice and the words he was using this is not a threat. Please lets just get them off the lot, and safe, get the papers and not cause any problems. Papers or not these are quality mares! Thanks, Sam

Tash, the Storm Cat reference is still on the CBER website. If ads are sending people to the main site, you might want to delete it there too. :-)
