Well it's official, Molasses is definately Larry's boy and I'm as good as dirt (smiles). . .they have bonded tremendously and I'm so baffled because I've never had a horse pic the guy over me. .haha! Larry's been holding Molasses while I untangled his tail ($25 worth of Cowboy Magic gone as well as about 7 hrs of time so far), it was a horrific mess! It's almost complete now and I managed to save most of his tail - it looked to have burrs or tumbleweed in it at some point. Anyways, his tail is gorgeous and well worth the time we spent trying to save it! Hey, maybe he hasn't taken to me cuz I'm always pulling on his tail - moms get the bad guy reputation by doing the dirty work. .so unfair! lol Anyways, here are some pics from our first weekend with Molasses. Sorry about the eye's - my cam is lame! PS - want to guess what breed this guy is? We have some ideas but your opinion is welcome!

He's beautiful! He looks purebred quarter horse to me! Definatley doesn't look like he has any arab! Maybe thoroughbred.

We think he's Andalusian or at least in part. Thoroughbred was suggested by a few as well as Morgan but he's very calm tempered and smart. He's a big boy at approx 15.3 h and he's really stocked out. His hind quarters are a little small for the rest of his body and his flanks are very different from anything I've seen before (like a standard popular breed). Larry, who's on him in the pics is a tall man, 6'4" so he makes Molasses look smaller than he really is. I'd like to know his breed too but with all the suggestions we keep coming back to Andalusian. He also steps out with grace making him some what of a fancy mover.
Thanks for all your nice comments and suggestions;) And to the gal who wishes she had a trailer, it'll come I promise. I gave mine up when I bought my house and was without for about 6 years. I never want to be without again!

I just love that head shot of him gazing into the distance. It's like he's seeing his whole life ahead of him, where once it was almost over!
