Where exactly are these horses? I saw a beautiful blue roan with a small band on the hills beside 97... they *looked* to be wild?

Can someone get photos? Info? Anything to go by? I have the BEST horses that originated from there. If I am trailering that at risk colt, I might as well grab one more.

I have a couple of the rez ponies--really are stunted horses. Their conformation isn't the best, but they are hardy little things. Both are smart and are true air ferns--and playful. While the Yakimas are carrying on their wonderful tradition of chasing these horses, perhaps they could put the colts in a pen, hire an honest-to-god vet, and get them all gelded. According to Sam (CBER) the tribe has been rounding up their horses for slaughter for years, treating them as a cash crop. If she's correct, the $100 is probably more than they get from chuck. Also, if she's correct, it would be cutting into their profits to geld the colts. If this sounds racist, be advised that I paint all horse abusers with the same disgusted brush. Race is no excuse for reprehensible behavior. Hi, I am trying to find a local column that had pictures and everything...but the "piece" did say that some of the younger studs were collected, gelded and released again! If I can find it, I will post it on here...I just hope that it does continue. I, too, have seen some of the wild groups out on the hills and they do look in awful shape! poor things!

My vet grew up over there and has lots of stories about these horses. As a child he used to catch one once in awhile and gentle it. He is an expert horseman thanks to these horses.

There were two younger horses with the group that appeared to be weanlings at the most. When they start to swerve away from the trap you can see the two of them catching up to the group just as the rest of them change direction. Towards the very end when they were slowing down a bit the bigger one of these two managed to catch up to the lead dark colored horse.

Any young stragglers are caught by the chasers..These young one are the first to adoped by members of the tribal nation... To get a foal or young horse you need a chaser to get them for you...You would need to be or have a rep. of the Yakama Nation... All other horses can be seen at the lot on the Yakama Nation (Toppenish, White Swan, and other places) by calling the main office for time and place...

We saw a many small herds as we drove up to Sams for the party. from afar they looked healthy but most of them were up on the hills and I was driving so... I couldn't do more then glance. When we left Sunday evening there were some by the road and two babies were running twirling and playing. We just had to smile and think Baby Dyna's!!
Dyna is an incredibly smart, sweet, mischievous little girl. She probably will end up being the best horse I own... and I already have Chester and Symphony so ... I have to say these horses are very much worth the $100 and some time.
Just worm with something other then Ivermectin at first!

Got an email yesterday - there are a dozen or more yearlings - 2 yr olds in the pens. They need homes ASAP. If not, you know where they'll go.
Stephenson offered me a price. If we could find homes for a few of these, I could get them in through the rescue for much cheaper. I don't know if he's willing to offer the same price to individuals. (OR if I'm even supposed to mention it.)
Unfortunately I'm out of shelters. No room at the Inn.

Darla - If one wants to adopt one of these yearlings, who is the contact? Can you post a web site, phone number &/or an email address?
Thanks!

Hello, I’m looking into adopting a few of the horses. Are there any left? If so where do I go to look/get them?
