Hello everyone. I need some advice on how to secure a fundraiser account. Basically I need to know exactly how to secure all the fund for only one specific thing and nothing else. The funds will be going to our rescue Tinkerbell. After her ordeal with getting attached by another mare now she is going blind. She will be going to pillchuck for further testing. She might be a perfect candite for eye surgery. Right now we are just waiting to see how much the estimate cost will be. We will know more on the 1st. The funds raised will go directly to the surgery nothing else. We are paying for the rest of everything else ourselfs. We are also coming up with other ideas for funds also. Thank you for helping us. amber

Hi amber,
I'm sorry to hear Tinkerbell is having such a rough time. If you do end up scheduling Tbell for surgery, you may want to speak with someone at Pillchuck about setting up an account with them. People interested in contributing could send the money directly to Pillchuck.

From what i've been told that pillchuck only takes credit cards. But i'm not to sure. Does anyone have there phone number and I will call and talk to them. I would rather the money go directly to the vet not us. So we know for sure its going there.

Heres the full meal deal about Tink. Shortly after she came from the auction she went to Tash's pasture as Tash does really well with re-homing the babies. This lttlel girl was perfect in every way she was going up for adoption after her vet check when disaster struck. A mustang mare that had never shown any signs of aggression jumped the fence and attacked Tink throwing her to the ground, biting and chasing her. Luckily Tash was there as was Tarkh who tried to protect Tink and was the only reason she was not killed. Poor Tink was ravaged by infection and went to PEC where Jude slept in the barn with her so she could doctor her as needed. Dr Emig seemed a bit guarded on her leg prognosis but Dean and Jude jumped in anyway. There were a lot of touch and go times but finally she was starting to heal!!! Unfortunately Jude noticed something was wrong with her eyes. This was devastating news to all of us. Dr Emig checked her and found not only was she losing sight in one eye the second was going as well. This poor girl has been thru the ringer and we have all talked about putting her down but those of us who have been touched by her fighting spirit and amazing temperment are not willing to believe after all this it is her time to go. We are asking for help from all of u to get her the surgery she needs. We are willing to do fund raising and follow thru with any ideas anyone has. We welcome all of u to not only donate money but also ideas anything is greatly appreciated. After her appointment we will have more info but I believe we are looking around 5000..... I know thats alot of cash but we feel we have to try. Thanks for listening guys

We used maggot and plasma therapy on her. Her leg is healing very well. She nicked the muscle but continued PT has kept her sound. I will update pics soon. I will post what we find after she goes to the eye specialist. She is young, great confirmation and one heck of a fighting attitude. She has been a trooper through all of this and remained very sweet.

Poor little girl. She's beautiful! Hope all goes well for her. If not, you might contact Rolling Dog Ranch Sanctuary. They have many blind horses there. . .and. . .a couple of young ones. If there is room, she would fit in and be well cared for.

We won't have an answer until she is seen by the eye specialist. Then we'll go from there. She is doing well.

I am thrilled to report Tink had her appointment today with Dr. Landry the eye specialist. Her left eye is good and she does have a large cataract in the right. She was put on antibiotic eye drops and will have surgery in 8 weeks. She will be able to see perfectly!!!

Little update from me too.... Tinkerbell's appointment went very well. I got complimented on what an well mannered little filly she is (wish I could take all the credit for it, but Tasha did most off the job). The veterinarian recommended surgery. If it's not done, there is a high chance of complications like infections or ulcers. This would result in complete eye removal. The chances of restoring complete vision is best at a young age (and she is just about a year...Yeah, I was relieved), and complications like infection through surgery are less likely to happen. After surgery she will have to have eye drops put in her eye three times a day until completely healed (for about a month). We have to wait for 8 weeks since her leg injury is not totally healed. The vet recommend to wait until then, to reduce the risk of infection. An infection could be caused by bacteria traveling through the blood stream to the new trauma site and manifesting itself there. By the end off this week we will receive a surgery estimate. And ONE BIG THANKS to DEAN for making it possible to even go to Pilchuck.

What a rough start this little one has had. Very happy and relieved that she's dropped into your care. She has a chance. I think she's beautiful in every way.
