I am needing some Jingles for my big boy Kadin. He is my 19.2 hand 2700 pound percheron. He is under the weather some with swollen glands and a bit of a fever. Vet will be out later today to give him a check over - but have a feeling it may be a tooth absess. Because he does not handle sedation well at ALL we have been waiting to do full sedation to do a power float - so have been sneaking by with hand floats till now. We had him scheduled to haul into the clinic on the 17th, but think we will need to boost that up. He doesn't have an obvious swelling on his jaw or that I can feel - but he is obviously feeling the blues. So - gave him soup(8 pounds grass hay pellets, vitamins, bute, flax, and apple sauce in a slurry) for breakfast and lunch - which he LOVED his slurpy meal. and he is out in the pasture with his buddies napping in the sun currently. This guy came from Canada and is only just turned 5(was a LATE baby) He is my doll and a few of you guys met him at the Dennis Wright clinic Here is a pic of him! Him as a 3 month old with his first leading lesson Him at the Dennis Wright clinic recently This guy is one of those once in a lifetime guys - very very special. all jingles for him are appriciated Sara

Jingling like mad! I hope he feels better soon! He's a gorgeous boy, and if he has a wonderful temperament too, then you've won the lottery!

This guy is so special - He is funny about strangers, but he is so bonded to me and John that we trust him 100%. he is absolutely one of the SMARTEST horses I have ever been around - always thinking, always noticing things - at the clinic I SWEAR he watched the other horses all day and learned how to do things from them - at the end of the clinic he could do EVERY manuver perfectly. Was a VERY pround mom moment.
Once in a while we get blessed with a horse that blows our mind! I am lucky enough to have had 2 in my life - Kadin is one of them!!!

lol - at 3 months I thought he was going to be a SMALL percheron since he was only about 14 hands or so at that point! Go figure - I chose him because I wanted a SMALL draft - Looking at breeding, Mare was 17.1 and Stud was 16.3 ..... lol This was the mares first foal as well - I had Kadins half brother who is a year younger and he turned out to be just about as big as Kadin - and he is only half draft! ohh well - I feel SOOOO skinny when I ride him!
thank you for the jingles....

Jingling! It must be tooth season! Mistletoe got a swollen cheek just two days ago, but she has reason, a) she is old and has cushing's and IR, b) she has a missing molar c) that area abcessed and was an open tract to the nasal passage when we got her.
they flushed the tract twice and did what they could to the neighbor teeth, but they have moved together and they are not straight any more... he said there was not much more they could do to help it... so, we flushed and flushed and picked out the bits of pellets stuck in there for the last two days, and its' better, but still puffy... so, we may be hauling in for dental again too! I'll tell Missy she has company up north feeling her pain! She gets only pellets now, btw, no more hay...
Hang in there Kaden, and take the sedation well!!! hopefully it's just a cap coming off!
