Ed, who I've treated like my big dog, is finally getting trained up right. I'm so proud of him, because not only can he now walk, trot, canter, reverse, slow down and whoa on the ground, but he isn't so head shy, he'll let you catch him, and I can touch his ears.
He is also letting me love on him, and actually acting like maybe, perhaps, he might just like it a little.
The horsey highlight of my day, besides seeing my buddy, Ed, after a weekend down at the Tired Dog Ranch: Ed met a pig named Charlotte.
We were finishing his grooming, when Charlotte woke up for a snack. Charlotte is ancient and a little ugly, but girlfriend loves her treats. It was fun to see Charlotte snorting for a treat and Ed's eyes popping out of his head. He shied at first, but then got curious and sniffed at her and my trainer let him follow Charlotte out of the barn.
Later as we were walking back in the barn, I said, "Watch out for the pigs." He stopped, and looked around and wouldn't let me lead him until I said, "I was just kidding about the pig."
It made my day.
MTA: What made your day? Horsey or otherwise?

My day was finely catching my Bulldog in the act of eating ( non-poisonous) exotic grass out of the pot on the deck. It was 2 ft tall until Matilda munched on it. Bad dog, no cookie ;D I wasn't sure until today which mutt was pruning it.

The highlight of my day is alway seeing my two labs faces when I drive in the driveway at night. There is nothing better than seeing those dogs smile and just be happy to see me. Especially my chocolate lab who thought that my really pretty roses smelled so good she would eat the blossoms...........Ahh yes the joys of dogs.

My farrier just left, and we finally got my 2 yr old filly's back feet done. When I got her a year ago she was wilder than a mustang. It's taken this whole time to get her halter broke, lead well, tie well, and finally get her to lift her back feet without rearing and biting you. Whew...love it when patience pays off. We did all four feet fairly easily. no biting at all and no rearing. yea! Still another 2 year wait until we can break her to ride. It was a good feeling getting 5 horses feet done in one day.
