Was going to sleep in this morning, but Bob woke me up with "BB's down, call the Vet"... Thank god I'm more level headed than he is (when it come to sick animals and kids)...Went out got her up and told him to walk her, but he was lost... Know picture this, a 17 yo mare who hates me named BB (Bob's Bi**H) Won't load, can't catch and I've got her haltered, in the trailer and ready to go...SHE'S SICK... Now she's at the Vet and will be there over night or  ...Dr. John and I tryed to talk to Bob and explain what could happened, but he's not listening... Here's hoping Bob's heart isn't broken....He loves this horse... Keep you up to date.......chatty |

Bob had to give the OK to put her down....Twissted bowel...Bob is 61 yo and he is crying...

Oh my... they look like they are of single mind...
I can see how he could love her...
I'm so sorry, it is SO darn hard... losing one, and in such a painful, horrible way.
Please tell him how brave he was in our eyes to let her go with dignity, having tried his hardest, it was only her comfort he could think of, over his own grief.
Fly free sweet BB...
Bob will see you again some day.... and you will breathe warm winds over his neck to remind him you are watching him....

Oh no, I am very sad to hear you lost her. Poor girl must have been in a lot of pain. I can only imagine how hard it was for Bob to let her go. My prayers and condolences to BB's family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Lossing a special friend is so very hard - sadly, sometimes losing an animal we are so bonded to is almost harder than anything else.

Bob is doing better today..He has gone out to the pasture and just stood...He choose to let the take care of her as he did have it in him to go get her...
Ky was with us when we took her in to the Vet and last night ask grandpa when we were going to get BB..At that point it hit us she didn't get it...So had to sit her down and till her in a 4 yo way....
No tears, just wanted to know where we were going to put her in to the dirt....Told her a man would do that for BB....
All the hard parts are over..Now the hurt and the heeling....chatty...Thank again....

I am so sorry. By any chance did you have BB Cremated? ? If you did - she can live on via a thing called EarthStar. They take the ashes and make a gem or a diamond for you. Sara in WA |

Oh, so sorry Bob and Chatty. I think it's a huge gift that you have a man who could be so attached to his animals. That is a wonderful rare thing. I have great respect for anyone who feels that much.
