Hello All, We have had many inquiries about Apollo and many good suggestions too. Yesterday, Taylor and I took Apollo to get a second opinion on his eye. We found that this vet was not as experienced as the specialists at the Equine Hospital. He recommended using the Idaho Equine Hospital, as they have laser equipment that is more high-tech than his facility. He confirmed the squamous, and agreed removal of the eye would be best. As we were with him in the exam, a visitor came over to observe, come to find out, this man is familiar with a Natural treatment use in Australia, specifically for squamous and other types of cancer. Here is the link he sent me, www.herbal-treatments.com/horse_cancer_herbs.html. He offered to try the natural remedy on Apollo so excitedly, we followed him to "Happy Hollow" ranch in Midvale Idaho, where we left Apollo in his care. The eye wash, maritime pine bark, squamous cell carcinoma internal and external treatment, and rescue remedy, will be mailed to him from Australia early next week, and he plans to treat Apollo for four weeks. After this time, it will be clear if the Natural treatments are helping and there may be a small hope of healing Apollo’s eye, (maybe with or without vision). Otherwise we will know the surgery is a must, and we will schedule him at the Id. Equine Hospital. I have contacted the Id. Equine Hospital with this update, and they are interested in Apollo’s well being, and will hold his Funds for four weeks. We will provide an update and possible pictures of Apollo’s progress. Thank you to everyone, for your concern and your support. Take Care, Debbie, Taylor & Apollo

Wow! That is fantastic news! Hopefully it will work and save this poor fellow's beautiful eye, and hopefully even his sight. Now THAT would be a definite miracle! Jingles for Apollo and his family! Sounds like things are finally going "right."

Very happy to see that someone knew about Robert McDowell's naturopathic treatments for horses! I've used his formulas and advice for years on my special-needs rescue dogs. I always got good results for what I was treating.
Yes. Please keep us updated. Hopefully it isn't too late for the treatment to work well. Treating naturally always takes longer as the body adjusts to fighting things itself.

I just heard that Apollo's naturopathic trial worked for a couple of weeks and has basically come to a standstill the last couple of weeks so they are going to take him back to the original veterinary clinic and have him evaluated again. Looks like he will have to have the eye enucleated. Jingles for Apollo and his family. ~jingle, jingle, jingle~
