She is getting... well... PORTLY! sheesh! give an old gal good food and look what can happen...!!! :-0 she is about to burst! If you look at the farrier's apprentice's face... you can see that the baby just jumped BIG right as I snapped! LOL! and we got plenty of farrier butt shots... but he just had to do the 'whose butt is bigger' pose for me... crazy farrier... but hey, worked in the pouring rain all day, and got 9 horses done... and you can see all the gray hair the poor old woman has... but she is still very pretty... and... oh yeah... she is right 'on time' for a mid march delivery! she started bagging up this week... :-) So, now she's had her pedi and mani, and she is ready for her 'nesting'... or creation of the foaling stall... and it'd be NICE if this rain would stop so she could have a paddock of something other than MUD ankle deep! argh... she lays down a lot, and just LOVES a mud bath, the problem is... her body is fine since we blanket her, but her legs now have scratches from the mud caking on her delicate white skin! she was NOT too happy with a leg bath yesterday after her mani/pedi... but OH WELL... ! sheesh, no respect! I even used the good SMELLING stuff! (Micro-Tek) any other good 'cures'... I feel bad, she looks ouchie... and it's all the way up to her hocks on her back legs....

poor old gal, we haven't looked at her teeth, they said the sedation that is used for dental can put her into labor, so won't do that until after she delivers... but she is eating less and less hay, mostly nibbles the alfalfa leaves out... and she scarfs down her late evening dinner bowl of Strategy, Purina grow and win 32 for protien, and E/Se, Forco, Magnesium, Source, and some rice bran with joint supps... along with a hefty scoop of hot soaked beet pulp and big scoop of soaked hot alfalfa cubes a steaming bowl of love at bedtime... :-)

Her name is Sunday... I saw her in the Horses in Need section here and watched her Craigs list ad for a couple of months. Watched as nothing happened, so finally I caved. We picked her up at Icehouse's house in December, meeting halfway from her home of 21 years in Washington State. At least she didnd't go to Chucks! She's sweet, but older than the dirt in her stall. I *hope* to get the MareStare cam up tonight... she's going to deliver in a couple of weeks. We should be home this weekend... come see her! And everyone else. Peg

we 'might' try to get an outside camera this time too... but if we do, no comments on our rain and mud, ok? :-) silly horses, even with a nice dry stall... they love the outside. Sunday likes to stand with her hiney 'in' and her head 'out', so, that is prolly all you'll see if we don't get the camera repositioned, ... her hiney.

I'll help on the foal watch too!!!! Sunday is just adorable, I would definitely prefer to see the pretty face, so an outdoor camera will be very much appreciated. Sounds like a sensible girl. Keep the body warm and inside, but position face towards the entertainment No comment on the rain and mud. I'm living and feeling your pain...

Hey, be careful what you volunteer for... with this gal, we'll probably call in lots of markers! It is hard working so far from home if we are at work at see her in labor, no time to get home. Hmm.. you two are both in Livermore - lots closer! Lets talk

not to worry, she isn't due for at least two more weeks... so we have time to get the bugs worked out... I think the lens needs cleaning... we will try some adjustments tomorrow.

ooops, sorry. is it bad to install active x? No. Some people are just extra careful or not permitted to download extra applications on work machines if the application is not needed for one to do their job.

ok. Hey Jenm! The woman you referred to us came out yesterday and did a good grooming on three horses! Including Ms Sunday! It was muddy and raining but she braved the elements, AND came with 25 lb of carrots! :-) thanks! I hope she returns! (we need to get a good 'volunteer program'... anyone have any knowledge on procedures we should implement? do we need to keep a log of volunteer hours?)

I don't have internet at the place I'm renting in the hills, but I saw on the marestare forum that they are starting to set up web pages so people can watch on their cell phones (windows mobile).
The 2 example cams they have aren't working on my phone though. I'll let y'all know if I get it to work and maybe we can request it for the FRR cam!
