Sgt. Mark Dunakin was a year behind me at Foothill High School...his brother was good friends with mine. Mark, Officer John Hege, and SWAT members Sgt. Ervin Romans and Sgt. Daniel Sakai all lost their lives last Saturday, March 21st, leaving 3 widows and 10 children without a father. I have good friends in the Oakland Police Department who are today mourning their lost brothers. Please remember them & your families in your prayers....funeral services just concluded.... www.facebook.com/ext/share.php?sid=61403328925&h=7psp8&u=dfy30&ref=nf(It's also come out that the cop killer was a suspect in the kidnap and repeated rape of a 12 year old girl. DNA evidence confirmed that the day before they were killed, but neither the killer nor the officers were aware of this yet. )

We watched the demonstration in the streets on Fox News last night. Some folks think this guy was a hero, a martyr for the 'years of oppression'. My s/o, a 25 year police veteran, and I cried. We're ready to find a new planet.

so sad, my s/o is in law enforcement. It's a tough business. I pray for their families, it's tough losing someone that way. It's a sad day and age for all.

How very sad, Oakland has some really nice areas, but a bad rap. My thoughts are will who lost a loved one!

I watched the entire funeral service for these officers. What a sad day but what a beautiful tribute to their lives. It's amazing the showing of family, friends, fellow officers and the community that gathered to mourn these officers. I cried the entire time especially when the K-9 officers dog barked at his casket to say good bye. I lost it:(

I watched too.......the camera did a good job of allowing the families privacy by shooting from behind......so when the dog went up to the casket...you know the dog knew. That, and the officers son who coudlnt' have been more than 12 acting as pallbearer, just broke my heart.
I spoke with my friend Todd who is a fellow SWAT team member......this is going to take a long time to recover from for all involved. Life goes on, but they were trully brothers and this absolutely did not have to happen.

Hey Barb I'm sorry, I've been hit and miss on here lately.
If you go to KPIX (Ch 5, San Francisco's) website, they may still have the link....
