Just got home from meeting Beth, and handing over sweet Miss Sunday. Sorry again for taking the wrong exit and making you drive farther. Didn't know there were 2 Gorman exits on the 5..... duh... She made the halfway trip like a champ. Took her out and let her stretch a bit, she met 2 Great Danes, that were almost as big as her ;D She was more worried they would eat her grass, she gave them the LOOK I will post some pictures in a bit, gotta go and feed the monsters, just wanted to let you all know she is in great hands, and on her way North.

Sunday #2 has settled in nicely... she is eating non stop and enjoying the sun. I think we will have her on mostly mush by this week, until her teeth can get done... one is very overgrown, maybe two... so they are ulcerating the opposing gum where the tooth is missing. lack of routine dental care... so d**n sad.

So I guess the owner was able to justify denying vet care because "she hurt laying down and getting up"?

I visited FRR yesterday and Sweet Sunday is VERY sweet! She's quite obsessed with food right now, which is a very good thing!
She's is VERY thin, but she is in the right place to get the best shot at returning to health, and (hopefully) putting a healthy baby on the ground. We stood there debating blanketing her - not sure how she would react - and, is it that cold, blah blah ... until we remembered she'd been a halter horse when she was younger! We laughed, and on went the blanket - she didn't miss one chew as she was munching her "late night snack." She was all tucked in and (still eating!) as we left last night.
I think she's going to be stunning when she's back up to weight - and what a love she is.
We were also talking about what to call her - if it isn't too saccharine - something off of "sweet" (Sweetie, Sugar...help me here!) cause is is absolutely a love.
mta: spelling..sigh..no coffee yet this morning...

when you whisper in her ear, she leans against you. I missed not hearing her last night. I bet she didn't bat an eye when you guys blanketed her, especially with food in front of her nose. I called her Pumpkin, she kinda has that orange color, and she is sweet as pumpkin pie.

ooooooo... I like pumpkin! she is totally sweet, and settled right in... I'm hoping she picks up weight fast... I'm not sure they can do her teeth yet... so, hoping the pellets do the trick... it will be soup for now.
I'll up load a few pics shortly... I've been so busy between the baby and her... argh... sure was great to have Caly and Scott here to talk to and show the babies to yesterday! and glad she got pics! LOL!

Well, as of last night when I went to visit and feed her... she is looking GREAT. She does love her pajamas... it's raining here and cold... :-) and she LOVES her soup. She is eating mostly soup now, three bowls per day of two full scoops of Elk Grove Milling at two feeds, and the third is alfalfa pellets, and beet pulp soaked before I make the soup. She is getting her vitamins, forco and e/se, and scarfing it all up. I am not going to take pics until this weekend, so I can see the diference but I 'think' her neck looks like it's filling out.
The AC officer has made first contact with me, so I'm hopeful they do a wellness check on her other horses this week. He sounded very concerned and like he'd go see them quickly.

That is great news, thanks Beth, feel free to give them my phone # if they need to talk to somebody local.
I'm so glad she is doing good. Merlin is still very upset that she is gone. I think he claimed her over the fence ;D

How about Dolce de Leche? It has that orangy caramel color and is SWEET SWEET SWEET? Then you could call her Dolce for short. Or Domingo Dolce? (Sweet Sunday) I'm so glad she's in your care, no matter what you call her!

well, haven't heard back from the AC officer yet, but did hear from the STallion owner today. The Sheriff raided the ranch this week and looked for the stallion. Tiffany told them she sold him for $500 to someone 'who came by looking for a horse to buy'... so, they filed charges as she 'admitted to stealing him'... she had no right to sell him, so by doing so she officially stole him to do that. anyway, they are filing the reports with the sheriff's office this week so the owner can file a net posse... argh... she is feeling like at least they are making some progress, but is very very sad he wasn't there... and now fears for his life.... a flashy paint stallion.... so close to Mexico on a more happy note, Sunday #2 is doing good... I got some pics today in the nice sun when she came out to nibble a little... I think she looks a little better than last week, it's so hard to tell, that is why I take pics in a few weeks if all goes well I'll have her palp'ed and preg checked to be sure she 'is' or 'isn't'. Won't do anything different right now either way... so won't put her thru that quite yet.... Mickeyfan came out so that's her there you see hiding! LOL!!!

She does look better, thank you Beth again for helping her. Can't wait to see her progress. Have you seen her lay down?
I can't believe she now sais she sold the stallion, that women is unbeleivable. I hope they find him.

I have not 'seen' her lay down or get up... but she does... as her blanket is dirty and she has shavings in her mane... so, she does... she still cocks her hind fetlocks, but not as much, so maybe that is better?

Ms Sunday #2 is doing better! she filled out even more while we were gone, and she looked kinda like a sheep when we went in to get her out for a hoof trim yesterday! he outter dry fur is coming off in sheets, yuk! and I was able to use a curry to peel it off! Yeah! her back is rising nicely... filling in with muscle... her anus is nearly at normal 'setting' again... and she was able to stand pretty well for a trim. she shook some while balancing... poor girl... so weak. but she did it! and was a perfect lady. :-)
Our volunteer did a great grooming and spoiled her rotten, but after that and a trim, she was so pooped she really wanted to go 'home'... so she got a well deserved nap.
I got a few pics on my phone, I'm trying to download... oh, and her feet are fine... by the way... ONE plus!

well oh well... Sunday #2, aka Pumpkin, is feeling MUCH better! we let little Sunday #1s baby out today (we are now calling him Khal-EL) in the bigger paddock... and they were running around some... and old Sunday #2, she took off and made several full circles of her paddock at a canter, including a big stride to jump up onto the upper flat area! she was going full out and has a very nice gait! wow, what a few days difference can make! she looked like she felt SO good! and happy! :-)

I got a few new pics. amazing what actually 'feeding' a horse will do. I swear we used no special 'potions' this was just plain food. made into soup so she can eat it.
