My back hurts just looking at her. "Her back would need adjusted if she was to carry a heavier rider." OMG! medford.craigslist.org/grd/1132254188.htmlBroke Mare (central point)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reply to: sale-ujqp5-1132254188@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?] Date: 2009-04-20, 6:56PM PDT Come get her! A papered TB mare she is 26 and needs to be ridden. Her back would need adjusted if she was to carry a heavier rider. Her feet were just done. Her teeth just checked. She is just eating and needs to be worked. She is still on the thin side because she is a "rescue" and she needs more weight. She needs a good home where someone will ride her. She would be an amazing trail horse with some shoes not spooky at all. She is the bottom of the picking order but likes to have another horse around. She needs to go to someone that will ride her please give her a good home. Call, text, or email me. My number is (541)778-2053. I also have tack I may sell and a two horse stright load trailer that she jumps in and backs out of no problem. Location: central point it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests

I think they are crazy to ride this horse as skinny as she is, but........if her weight was up to where it needed to be and I had a properly fitting saddle I would ride her. My old gelding was swaybacked, good weight, and healthy as a horse (parden the pun) and the vet told me to ride. Of course for this particular mare I would have the vet out and have her overall health checked before I would ride. If the vet gave the okay, I would ride.

I say at 26 that this old gal has packed more than her share of riders and deserves a nice green pasture to rest and enjoy her senior years! The only "rider" I could ever consider putting on her back would be the occasional "small" child for a leisurely lead around the paddock just so the ol' gal would still feel useful, but never, never would I put her back to work as a saddle horse...

Definately has some conformational issues. I can't imagine they will find someone willing to take her at that age.

Definately has some conformational issues. I can't imagine they will find someone willing to take her at that age. Sadly, they will find someone willing to take her at that age: a KB. I would be surprised if some "nice family" hasn't already offered to give that poor horse a "forever" home...

Each of my boys started their riding career on horses just like this one they were all the best babysitters. Just big gentle loving souls who needed a child to love them. Funny thing, kids see beyond the sway back and age all they see is an animal who they can trust and call their own. I hope someone can see that in this poor girl.
