Thanks everyone! I did have a wonderful birthday; spent it up in Gualala (coastal Northern California) and was surrounded by family and friends ... beautiful weather, good food, fun company. Couldn't ask for more!

Oh I love, love, love that area. For many years I spent T'giving week at Sea Ranch. Best place in the world.

Ahh! That's exactly where we were! I just figured if I wrote "Sea Ranch" most people wouldn't know what I was talking about!
My brother and I are 3 years apart, but our birthdays are only 2 days apart. For the past 9 years, he and I have had a tradition of going to Sea Ranch, renting a house, and celebrating our birthdays together. His wife and 2 kids come, of course, and this year our younger sister and her partner joined us for one night. Some of my brother's friends came for a big abalone dinner one night. We all had a wonderful time!
