Funny you should post this , I was about to ask about this stuff. I just bought a bag of Stall Dry, which is this stuff. I use it in the dog run. To kill the smell from the ammonia. I was also told that you can sprinkle this on the floor of chicken runs if chickens get parasites etc, that it will kill them (not the chickens, haaha) IT also says it's great to put on manure piles to speed up composting and make the mineral very very fertile for soil. Sounds like very handy stuff to have around.

I use it and I LOVE it I have given it to my dogs. Sprinkle about a teaspoon on there food. I use it for the chickens, I put it in there nest, where they like to dust and in there coop never have an ammonia smell. I also sprinkle it in my stalls (it drys things out). You can also put it on your dog's and cat's to get rid of fleas. Great stuff and so many ways to use it. Tina

I have fed the food grade diatomaceous earth to all the critters here for years. It works great, internally and externally. You just have to be careful and have fecal floats done periodically as D.E. does not kill all parasites. Periodic chemical worming is still necessary as certain parasites can still find their nasty ways into your animals' intestinal systems. Sprinkling the non-food grade or food grade anywhere you find flies works great. I even put it in my sawdust x peat moss mix I use in the composting toilets. No smell + no flies = happy campers!
