It is with much discussion and thought (about a years's worth) that my husband and I have decided to place our two beautiful horses for sale. My husband has some health concerns mainly his allergies are so severe to horses and hay that he is constantly miserable and he is also needing to have surgery on both of his shoulders so it pretty much takes all the enjoyment of horse ownership out of it for him. Sampson: 20 year old Standardbred gelding, 17.1 hands. This is one amazing trail & mountain horse. Goes through water, bridges and is great at the beach. We have taken him horse camping and he does well on a highline. He has always been kept up to date on all shots, vet and farrier care. Great with kids and just has an overall wonderful personality. Asking $1200 OBO, additional tack also available. Turtle: 13 yr old Appy gelding, 16.1 hands. He was a CBER rescue from 2-08 and this horse has come full circle from when we brought him home. He has an amazing personality and willingness to do whatever you ask of him. He is a great trail & mountain horse, goes over bridges & through water and does excellent at the beach. He will need a patient confident rider and no beginners or young children. Asking $1200 OBO, additional tack is also available. I am limited to my online time to mainly working hours. You can reach either Ken or Michelle Patrick at 253-846-3077 (hm) or you can PM me and I will get back to you.

Sorry that you have to do this Michelle. But, knowing that your husband had severe horse allergies, you're to be commended for making the effort, and you DID save Turtle. I don't have allergies, but it must be total misery.

He is really bad, his eyes get jet red and his throat really tightens up and he just has a hard time breathing and coughs alot. And his shoulders just really kill him. This is not a decision that I am looking forward to or necessarily ready for but for his health I will.

I've really enjoyed your stories about Turtle's progress, Michelle. You two have come such a long way together. This has to be so hard for you, but I can certainly understand the necessity of your decision. Good luck in finding that perfect home for your boys.

We cant do it! The thought of saying goodbye to our horses that we have enjoyed and done so much with has left us in an emotional wreck. They will be with us for the remainder of their lives.

I vote for allergy shots for Mr. Michelle. I would be quite willing to contribute to a fund drive to help relieve his horsie allergies.

Michelle, that is awesome to hear, I'm so glad you're keeping the boys. I agree with the ladies, maybe it's worth looking into Allergy shots, so he can enjoy them with you.

You guys are going to just be SOOOOO done with reading any of my posts. Here's the deal, Ken would still like to rehome his horse, mentally and physically he has been ready to rehome the horses for about a year but has continued to ride with me because of me. You see, this will be a tough descision for me as horses are in my blood and a huge part of who I am. But I cant ask my husband to continue on with something that causes him pain & discomfort. So Sampson and Turtle are still for sale and I will be looking for loving homes. Sorry to be wishy washy, but he was trying to do his best and hang in there for me. So we are still looking for that great home for these wonderful horses.
