Hurt Rescue Gelding Needs Help

I bought the beat to hell tb after the auction. I really had nothing else I could do. I missed him when he ran though and saw him after the auction. I hate lining Ollies pocket but just couldnt let it happen. Luckily I have great friends who all stepped in to help. Kim took the call and immediately stepped up which allowed me to actually go ahead with the purchase.He was dropped off the night before and during the trailer ride had climbed into the manger and was upside down. The guy just pulled him out and tried to thrown him in a stall. One of the auction gals told him off and made him at least wrap the worst cut. We took him out and cold housed and applied ointment. The entire time he stood and did not move a single muscle. He just really hurts and is very under weight. For now he is going to a rescue but he may still find a spot in a private home. I really hope he makes it. I know he would have gone down in the trailer. Hoping to read his tattoo tomorrow was supposedly at Longacres. There for sure were healthier easier horses but his head on my chest was my undoing. Thanks to everyone that helped and thank you Patricia at Serenity and Kim for saying yes when he was literally 5 minutes from the truck.

He had his leg completely cleaned out and was a total champ. He then got a visit from Dr Deward and seemed to understand it was gonna make him better. He honestly never moved a muscle. His leg was allready granulating and is wrapped in the hopes that the flap of skin will stay viable. He loves kids pigs and watermelon no grain thank you very much. He is over 17 years old but not too much older. Although he is hurting he still moves out when asked and was calling when we walked away for a minute. I know he wasnt the best deal at the auction but hes stolen my heart and a few others!!!

Since his save from the kill pen he has been progressing slowly but surely. He has had many vet visits for his leg and his prognosis is great. He did have some problems with the damage being worse than expected but he has NEVER even been unsound. He has put up with horrible deep cleanings with no drugs and LOVES people. He leads wonderfully and really captures your heart. Last week he had his teeth done which were horrible and hooked and also his winky washed(bean the size of a silver dollar) Rachel stepped up for this guy after his purchase but had no intention of a new high needs horse. Her vet Dr. Deward has agreed to take any donations for his care and even 5 dollars would be amazing. This guy was literally going to die and is only alive now because of a group of people that banded togethor to give him a chance. He will need a home as well and I can tell you for sure if you meet him he will creep into your heart like he did ours. The vet's number is 206-794-1351the address is P.O. box 1470 Buckley Wa 98321 . Hey Tash thanks for posting this! Danny is doing really good. He is actually kicking up his heels in the pasture and running for his food. He still has at least 100 lbs to gain but he is for sure making progress. He finally has some light in his eyes that has been the best part seeing him come alive. When we saw him at the auction yard he was standing with his head in the corner facing away from everyone. The only time he came out was to lay his head in between Jess and I well who could walk away from that. His leg is doing better although it is still swollen. We actually found after his initial visit that he had a hole below the one had seen before... this one was even deeper!! He has been great about his doctoring and is sweet at all times. This poor guy had a bean the size of a silver dollar and horrible hooks in his teeth. He is all squeeky clean and chewing happily. I was not prepared for his expenses but couldn't just walk away from him(hubby has no idea) so any help would be awesome. I absolutely would love donations straight to his vet Dr. Bob and would happily return the favor down the road. Thanks for everything and anyone who wants to meet this guy come on out!!!
Danny is up for adoption, he is broke to ride but will need a refresher. Danny is very sweet and lets my mare boss him around. Again if there is anyone out there that can donate towards his bill it sure would help. And Danny’s adoption fee go’s straight to the vet. $250.00 . He has had his teeth done and willy wash and has been dewormed 3 times. He still will need his shots. I would do it but the vet bill is getting to high, and I felt that he should have his teeth and willy done first.

This guy is the quitest sweetest boy ever. He is sweet to everyone and follows my kids everywhere. He is so careful and respectful of them and loves to breathe on their heads. He is a horrible eater and would rather hang out then eat half the time so it is really a testament to Rach that he has gained this much weight. He is a happy boy and just wants his own family! He is nothing like the said guy in the back of his pen. I love these transformations!

Hi guys, is there any one looking for a sweet, loving, gentle, 18 year old tb gelding, who needs a refresher at riding? Danny really needs a home of his own. My husband also said he needs to go, he just saw the vet bill on my card was not happy. I will let Danny go on a gift contract. Danny needs a home before the end of the month. His leg is healing nicely. I will try to get some new pictures of him later today.

This guy has been ridden bareback and did pretty darn well rusty but nothing naughty

This horse looks just like my sons horse Melmer the Magnificent ( his "good ol' rusty steed" as he calls him). Melmer came to us last winter he was originally a rescue from Oly who had gone to a family and not been cared for. When they dropped him off here they explained he limped, tossed his head, jerked the reins out of the kids hands, and was a pain so they stopped his glucosamine and put him in a pen by himself. Their explanation for his thin appearance was "he was getting over a flake a day but they were not putting a bunch of money in a horse no one could use". My youngest boy took one look at him and decided they were going to be partners and boy are they! After alot of good feed, tons of daily exercise, and several visits by the equine massage lady Melmer and Ty competed in the Jr Rodeo in August. It was truly a thing of beauty. Lets find Danny a little cowboy or cowgirl of his own these horses are such a find and well worth saving.

The first picture is of Melmer when he arrived these are of Mel and Ty doing there thing. Ty loves to ride hell bent around the pasture with his flag yelling "I am the king of horses". They have also done a little jumping and Melmer even threw in a little bucking to keep Ty on his toes. I will pass the word on Danny and hopefully soon see pictures of him and his own little king.

Thank you so much for any help. Danny for sure is so very sweet and calm. He has the weirdest quirk his tail is always up making it look like he has constant gas its hilarious. He is for sure an easy keeper now that his teeth are done he is requiring nothing special to stay fat and sassy.

My son rode Danny Saturday, he had him walk,trot canter and full out running in the pasture. My son only rides maybe 3 or 4 times a year. even with the saddle not fitting, Danny handle everything well. He likes to pull the reins out of yours hands by putting his head down, but there is no bucking. My son also said when he had Danny going along the fence line he did better at what was being asked of him to do. Turning is his down fall but that can be fixed, just needs work. Danny now has been ridden 3 times now 2 times with the saddle and once bareback, for the three times they have been 2 weeks apart each time.

Also I want to thank everyone that had payed towards his vet bill. I don't know what the remaining bill is but I will find out.

Thank you so much for your kind words totally made my day!! Rach has put alot of time and effort into this horse and quite frankly will need a diet by the time he leaves. He will for for sure be an easy keeper in his next home .. amazing what a teeth float will do!!!
