Has anybody heard of this, or have any experience with this supplement?
It's supposedly a herbal treatment for Melanoma, Sarcoids, etc. in horses.
Thanks

On one of the old boards-I had a thread about Arizona and her sarcoids-hers were nasty and it was a long ordeal-one -a thumblike appendage in her ear canal that pretty much took up the whole ear that was weepy would swell and burst-another across the base of same ear dry and warty-approx 5 inches and 3 inches high, smaller warty ones on chest and belly. Had vet operate to remove what he could-when he came back a week later for a booster shot-she clobbered him BAD-so feed through meds became my only option-"Nublada's Cure" is what I went with. Her sarcoids returned somewhat but never as bad as when I first got her-occaisionally would swell and burst then shrink-each time getting smaller until finally hardly noticable. Also research said to keep horse off alfalfa. Had heard about another product called XTerra but don't think tha would have worked in/on her ear.

Here is a link to Nubladas Cure by the makers. www.earthangelherbs.com/tumor_formulas.phpHere is a link to XXtera. www.amazon.com/dp/B001J81L1E/ref=asc_df_B001J81L1E904097?smid=A2701FG002WN6Z&tag=shopzilla_mp_1306-20&linkCode=asn&creative=380341&creativeASIN=B001J81L1E-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Product Features XXTERRA is an herbal formulation of bloodroot powder and zinc chloride solution, combined and stirred into a smooth brown paste. Bloodroot contains sanguinarine (the primary component), chelarathrine and protopine, all of which are alkaloids. Zinc chloride promotes inflammation of the sarcoids surface and with the alkaloids, alters the sarcoid cells so they become antigenic to the host. Accordingly, XXTERRATM alters the antigenicity of a sarcoid to stimulate the host's immune system and result in an immune rejection reaction of the sarcoid. Wildwoman, you were right. See the warning - Note: If sarcoid is located by cartilage in ear, a hole could occur My one Belgian mix mare had sarcoids on her chest The vet told me to make sure to keep flies off the sarcoids so I used pink Swat/Repel X on them. Two days later, the sarcoids began shrinking. About a month later they were gone completely and we had no sign of any for about three years. Six weeks ago sarcoids appeared in the EXACT place she had them before. They are beginning ro shrink again already. I did not medicate this time as they were not cracked/inflamed. There are three of them in a row, smaller than a dime each.

Thanks guys, my gelding has a huge cluster of Melanomas on his sheath, the upper part. The penis is clear, and so far the cluster does not seem to interfere with his urinating. However, the Melanoma's are not all black, but some have an almost blueish coloring to it. They seem to almost be in a sack. If you eve seen how sausages are made, it almost looks a bit like that. I'm going to try to get some pictures, my vet has taken some of it when he was out, but I forgot to ask her to send them to me. I was just researching some herbal treatments for Melanomas, and this is one I had come across, just thought I'll check if anybody had any experience.
If anybody has any ideas on Melanoma treatments, I'm open, preferably not something he'll have to be on every day for the rest of his life.
Thanks
