I am going to be getting a new horse in a couple of months. The problem I have is that I need a few requirements that are deal makers or breakers. kid and pet tolerent I have a fearless five yr old and a cat who thinks its a dog. It is not that I dont want to have a horse in need I just need a horse that does not come with a lot of baggage. cribbing, territorial problems, barn problems. Also I am a occasional rider so I am not looking for a 7500 show horse. I want a trail safe horse that I can teach my daughters to ride on and still have fun on the trail. I ride english and just bought a western saddle for trail ridding. I live on a farm with a indoor arena and 1/4 ac pens with lean tos in some of them. I would like a mare 14.3 + age 4-12 prefer Arab or Quarter horse Chestnut (because it is my favorite color) I am CBER approved and thought about adopting but need to know if my daughters will be safe. I AM looking for a long term commitment. Sunlightslady was my companion for 18 yrs and I am looking to find another partner. So I guess what I am asking does anyone know of any that fit this bill? I really want Toria to learn and have a partnership with a horse like I had.

We rescued a horse last winter- she was CBER Trudy if you want to look at her, if you like her feed lot pix and will send me your e-mail we've got pix after she was cleaned up and healthy. A lady in Moses Lake took her last summer, and is now trying to have another baby...( the lady not Trudy) so she no longer wants her. I told her I'd help her find another home. Trudy was one of our favorites if all the horses we rescued last year. We rode her for couple months after she was healthy. She was packing my dog-rescue friends all over and they're non-riders. Very good on trails - not spooky but lots of energy. She is probably !/2 Arab !/2 quarter but she is bay not chest. Trudy has a lot of character, she really interacts with people. She is probably 14-15 now she was not as old as originally posted. I'm sure I lunged her - I lunge everything, but I don't remember her being difficult about anything. Hauls and loads, ties. She's very sound and sturdy legs, OK feet. She's a nice little mare, maybe 14.3 15hh but sturdy - packed John at 6 ft and 175 lbs plus western saddle - no problem. Rode out nice in ring snaffle -only bit I use, stopped good. YOu can ride her bare-back in a halter. If this sounds like something you'd like. Let me know. CW
