Thanks for the well wishes. I'm sure she'll be fine. She wasn't even running a temp today. Vet said it's probably just a little shipping fever of sorts. Her lymph nodes aren't enlarged and her lungs were clear. All in all if it wasn't for the nasal drainage you would never know anything was wrong. She's not coughing either.

I've never dealt with it ever but had a g/f years ago who had a badly foundered mare. Only thing I really remember about that horse was her HUGE thick neck.

Hi there! Here I am! I think so far you are doing fine... but if she has foundered... in the past... then she is probably at risk for doing that again... so, no more grain. Try giving her a bowl of beet pulp and soaked grass hay instead... the grass hay should be her mainstay... soak for an hour in cold water, then drain off the water (where she can't get it!) and that can remove up to 1/3 of the sugars... no more grains, or any feed 'from a bag', they are all high sugar/carbs.... (even the "Carb Safe" has about 1/3 of it is carbs! we want it less than 10%!!) so, beet pulp, soaked then rinsed is a very safe feed, and you can put in some grass or alfalfa pellets (a handful) for taste if you need...
where do you live? there are some decent low NSC feeds out there, you just have to know for SURE what they are before you try one... :-) Manufacturers are trying to sell to you, you can't take them for their word unfortunately!!!
Oh, no carrots or apples either, no treats... no grass either. Use the muzzle, tape over the hole... and stick with nice grass hay, soaked.... then, join the equinecushings@yahoogroups.com web site... GREAT info on Insulin Resistance, the diet, the trim.... :-) and feel free to PM me for more detail! (like this book wasnt' long enough!, sorry!!)

I will be PM'ing you to pick your brain once it's confirmed that she is a founder horse. For now she's off pasture and on grass hay only. She's still pretty sick.
