Hi just wondering if any body here has had this problem before. My mares left knee started sweling some but with no lameness. She has lost some of her range of motion in the leg tho. Took her to vet after x-rays came to the conclusion she had an infamed tendon shealth that runs across her knee. He drained some fluid out and injected it with medications to try and heal. The swelling is better but still some there. This is after 7days and she is on rest. Wondering if anybodey has some other sugestions or familar with this. Thanks.

Infections in the tendon sheeth can be extremely serious and need to be treated with local antibiotics as well as injectable daily antibiotics. Nexel as well as Pen. shots are generally a good place to start. Tendon sheath infections can be life threatening if not treated fully or on a more minor scale can cause long term or permenant lameness. After 7 days if you are still seeing swelling it is time to find a more agressive approach. CAll your vet and get a new game plan - this is something not to mess with Sara in WA
