I've had great results with Yucca, in the powdered form added to their mash, etc. Can take upto 30 days to see the results, but some of the results have amazing. I was so impressed by several of my horses reduced inflammation, reduced stiffness, that I have started taking it myself, I do notice a difference.

Thanks for all the remedy/supplement ideas.... I guess you'd get the yucca at a health food store?

Yucca and Devils claw are good pain reducers. BL Solution is a great liquid product that has this. Next Level liquid is wonderful and for the price is really a great product.
HOWEVER - if possible, get some x-rays and find out exactly where the arthritic areas are. Depending on what part of the joint and if the area is starting to calcify - it is important to supplement accordingly.
If the arthritis is in the larger more mobile part of the joint, doing IM injections of adequan along with Next Level may be a great way to go - even daily bute for a time to help lower inflamation is not a bad way to go.
HOWEVER - if the arthritic changes are showing in the less mobile part of the joint and they are starting to calcify - it is important to NOT supplement anything that will delay this. Once this part fuses, the horse will basically be pain free - so the faster you can get them there the better!
So - you may want to have some x-rays done just so you have knowledge and can deal with it accordingly!
