Okay, so I don't know who named him Magicman, but I've come to realize it's appropriate. Manny's a wily little guy - he's ALWAYS looking for a way out!
I'm trying to get him out into the day turnout (then off into the big pasture where all the cool kids hang out!) but the electric fence doesn't stop him. He just looks for a good spot, gathers his courage, and runs on through. He just runs the 50 feet back to the barn, so it's not super dangerous while I'm there, but I can't leave him. He even takes off even though Web's in there with him.
I've never dealt with electric fence before. If you keep throwing them back in, do horses eventually give up? It seems to stop all the other horses! Does anyone have any tricks or advice?

Some horses just don't respect electric fencing. I have known several horses that once they figure out they are only shocked for a second, just won't be contained by electric fence. Although in some cases if you put up an extra strand or get a stronger charger it will deter them. I have a pony that doesn't respect the electric fence but right now her pasture is cross fenced with it and since she doesn't like the horses next to her she hasn't went through it - YET ! She doesn't mind getting shocked if it means visiting one of her boyfriends or eating some greener grass. I use to have a mare, many years ago that knew when the fence was off, she was always testing it with her nose. The second the fence charger was off she would be in the next pasture
