Brio passed away on December 16, 2006. He was still in QT with Deb. He was suffering from congestive heart failure and he closed his eyes for the final time resting his head in the lap of someone that would feed him by hand because that was the only way to get him to consume any real amount of food. We all grieve for him. I want to thank Deb and her friend that were with him in his final hours. We must all remember what it is like for the wonderful people that QT our animals. I waited to post this to see what type of board this was going to be-I like it. ;D Stacie modified: I'm glad you like this board - we do too...lots of great Horse Lovers here. Thank you for saving Brio......his picture isn't on here, so here it is....

Galaxy and Deb, my heart goes out to you both. We've had so much loss of late; it seems illness just continues to take its toll on the ones we love. You are both in my prayers tonight. Rest in Peace, little Brio. You are in a better place, with no sickness, no pain, warm days and green fields to gallop in to your heart's content.

Oh no Galaxy. I am so sorry. The only comfort I have in all of this is that these horses were taken by people who really cared for them and did not allow them to meet the fate of slaughter. They passed knowing love and human compassion!
Hugs and Prayers!

Sweet Galaxy, please accept our deepest condolences for your loss and our greatest thanks for helping to save this beautiful boy from slaughter. You gave him a chance, and he lived his last days loved, safe, and well fed. Dearest Deb, thank you for continuing to QT and care for these horses, despite the sickness, loss, and sadness you are seeing so much of. Stay strong, dear woman. And precious Brio, I pray your hooves sound like thunder as you run through meadows where the grass is green and the angels sing. Thank you for the joy you brought us while you were here.

Thank you for all your kind words- it does help! I am worried about how much Deb has suffered through all this- does anyone know how we can help her through this.
