Casino was helped across the rainbow bridge today...Thank goodness he knew the amazing love, kindness and support from Syndi, Dakota, shellyr and all of his friends here.
RIP dear Casino. You were dealt some really bad luck, but were lucky enough to live the good life, even for a couple of months.

The loss of Casino is heartbreaking, I still think Casino beat the odds and had great love and kindness during the last few months of his life, A huge thank you to Syndi,Shelly and all involved with his loving care. Rest well beautiful boy. 2006, we as a community have lost many great ones.

May Casino rest in peace, the same peace he found when Syndi and Dakota came into his life. Have followed his story from the beginning and missed the updates recently. Was so hoping he could beat the odds and allow his quirkly little personality to continue amazing all of us. Godspeed little man!
To Syndi and Dakata and Shelly, hugs and thank yous!

Does anyone know what happened? As in did he just get too tired with all his problems, or did something new happen? Poor old guy. Poor Syndi and Dakota, AND shellyr. It's very sad.

Yes, Casino just got too tired. He was unable, at the very end, to get up even with a lot of help, and so they made the decision to let him pass. I can't imagine how hard it is for all of them not to have the happy Casino horse greeting them everyday.

Lucky Horse Casino, we put all our bets on you and you won! You survived what you should not have, were graciously welcomed and loved by a boy who knew you belonged with him, and you lived out your days rolling sixes and turning aces. The ladies at the Sassy Granny Ranch understand why you had to go and why couldn't come to meet them; but they promise they will see you someday and enjoy you in all your glory.
On a human note, my heart breaks for a young boy who sees life in a way we cannot, for a woman who loves and supports this boy in a way we cannot, and for a friend who helps both mother and son love these horses in a way nobody else could or would. I send you my love - that is what I have to give right now.

That is very sad, I am happy that Casino got the life he did in the end and knew how loved he was.
If anyone here talks to Syndi tell her my thoughts are with her and her family.

I'd like to echo Atticus. Would someone who's in contact with Syndi please pass along my condolences? Thanks.

I ditto that...I always enjoyed reading her lucky Casino horse updates...also Annie's, even though I bawled like a baby when Annie died.

Dakota, Shelly and Syndi you have my thanks for giving Casino the love, respect and dignity that he deserved. I had really hoped that he would pull through with the care, love and oportunity that you and your family provided for him.

Yet another horse that was saved and allowed to pass knowing love and human compassion.
Thank you for allowing this beautiful creature to experience that before his crossing.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
