I am very sorry to have to tell you all that our rescue Paris had surgery today, but the fetlock was found to be far too bad (soft tissue wise) to reduce and it was decided after a valiant effort by two surgeons that she could not be saved. We were unprepared to say the least.... we thought we were of course.... but she is flying free now, free of the horrors this world pushed on her, free to run free and fly with the wind.... we miss her greatly already. Beth

So sorry Beth. There are very few who would give these disadvantaged horses the efforts that you do. She had the best care possible I am sure! You have done so much for so many- thank you!

It's very hard to hear this, I wanted to help her but have been strapped and was so happy to hear she was having her surgery. You just never know what life is going to throw at you. She was a beautiful girl who knew your love for her.

Oh, I am so sorry...I had hopes that this would work out for her...you are angels for at least trying to correct such an awful condition...
I'm thinking of you...

Thank you everyone. We are very very sad today. It was a hard decision for us, the best for Paris of course, but d**n it is hard. We know everything was done, and tried, and that Paris left us with love in her heart. Life just is going in slow motion today, surreal. It wasn't supposed to end like this, for us or for Paris. Thank you all for such awsome support, we are grateful for our friends.

And Beth, you left Paris with love in her heart. Thank you for everything you did for that amazing, beautiful girl. You all went way beyond what anyone could have imagined and fought a galliant fight. May Paris rest now, pain free, running in green pastures of tall grass. And may you, dear woman, grieve for your tremendous loss, knowing you did everything possible for her. You are my hero, Beth. I think I speak for everyone that we support your decision and feel such sadness and pain for you.

I am so sorry to hear about Paris, you did the very best for her. It's so hard to let them go, but she's in a far better place "at peace" in her new home.

Thanks everyone for your kind words... we have an empty spot in our barn (and our hearts) that won't be filled for a long time.... she was such a sweetheart.
