Today we laid to a rest a fine fancy lady at 30 years old her body was failing we had been told she was possibly bred and we had her checked shortly after we got her and the vet had stated she was to sloppy to say a definate yes or no so we waited and as she showed signs of being larger we feared she was but the last few days she has been off and acting strangly and so we called the vet out and he did an ultrasound for us and no she was not in foal but she did have cancer and huge tumors and out of compassion we opted to end her suffering today
Fancy is a registered arab mare that we took in along with her companion she is out of the lioncrest farms where she was bred and raised untill she could produce no more and then she was donated to a equine rescue who tossed her and her friend out of 20 acres of tarweeds to eat what they could fend forthemselves when animal control was called they of course posted her and her friend online
Fancy lived her final days fat and full of life much like her beinning in life pampered and doted upon but it was time
I am beginning to think my vet is going to buy a new car here real soon with these vet calls

blazin, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. 30 years is a long life and hopefully you will find comfort in knowing the best part of her life was spent with you.
