~ Shipped to slaughter 3/25/07, along with 11 other nameless horses from the feedlot ~19 - 22 year old, 15.3h, tatooed TB mare. This good looking mare was kind and easy to handle. She probably was used as broodmare seeing her enlarged belly. We were told that she is open. She has a great eye and is well put together. She was good about picking up her front and back feet. She has an enlarged left ankle that might have happened on the track, however she trotted sound at the time of assessment. Though she is sound we did not ride her, he age and ankle would make her best suited as a companion horse. www.columbiabasinequinerescue.org/DEF-HorsesProfile.asp?HoID=653ADOPTION FEE $ TBD

No more interest in the Big Mamma? Hmm, maybe she should become Belgian Chocolate's new horse bud! I'll bet someone out there needs a nice older couple to accent their field...

She's a nice looking girl. She has an intelligent look in her eye. She deserves retirement and TLC!

God bless you sweet girl. You don't deserve this. Shame on the owners who left you on that lot to face this. May they live the rest of their life with uphill challenges.

I had a feeling it was going to be her.
I'm sorry baby... I want to take all the older bay mares. (Kaleigh's dam would be a 22 year old bay broodmare with a tattoo) She dropped off the radar last summer - about the same time K hit the lot as "Tabby". They were owned by different people at that time...but she may have still come through the lot..or may yet. She had been a stakes winner - won over $100K - then produced a number of registered foals including my girl. But...then she got old.... stopped getting pregnant....it's a sad story we see over and over.
