~ Shipped to slaughter 7/14/07 ~20 year old, 16.1h, Morgan type gelding. He was gentle on the ground, tied quietly, saddled up nicely. He is stiff in the front end has a crested neck, past history of founder would not be surprising. He was quiet for the rider, trotted and cantered. The rider commented on smooth his gait was and the chance of him being gaited. Is a nice gentle horse with the proper management would make a great pleasure riding horse. A vet check is suggested. Please contact Heidi Antonie for more information.EMAIL:CreeksideAQHA@aol.com $770RIDING ASSESSMENT FEE DONATION ($20):

I have never seen such a cresty neck.......maybe we are just surrounded by thoroughbreds here

No he does appear quite cresty...but it does seem to me like Morgans are thicker necked...

Yes, Morgans and Peruvians are naturally more cresty......but also if he was gelded late, he'd have more of a crest, so it's not for sure, that he's foundered. Again, a vet check is in order. But I'm afraid for him- he's nice and meaty..........

I love Morgans, my first horse was a morgan. This is a dumb question..........is there a morgan rescue out there? I have not heard of one.

apache - can you do the research on the internet? Find out about all the Morgan rescues out there ..... send them the info about Billow having only a day left before he's shipped to slaughter, and ask for help!
Then report back here, thanks!

I keep coming up with morgan boats....I think most of us rescues are non discriminatory...hhahaha...equal opportunity...hahaha! I will keep looking, but am not much good as I need to get some zzzzzzzzz's to care for the 31 I house. Sorry. I did try to get Wildflower placed though, a woman over here is fancying the idea of a mule but fears the transport fees.........as do we all. I sure have never been sorry though, I swear I have the world's greatest horses here.........some of them anyway!

Has anyone contacted the WA or OR state clubs to see if the know of any Morgan rescues? I don't want to annoy people with multi emails.

Does Cowgirl Spirit have room? He looks like he would be an awesome drill mount.
