cool, wish Arrow and I could join. He loves shows, he thinks he's in a race, and passes all the other nice paced horses. Thank god he's got the smoothest trott, and makes me look good on him ;D

I think it will be a blast!! Looks like we are gonna bring horses over, it isn't very far from Jim's and everyone seems to want to get out and have some fun.
I took on a project horse Oslo (since Finn is gone, I thought I would take on a project that needed some re- training to brush up for when he is home and get my skills together). So I think I will show him even if we just get to Halter since we are working on groundwork. We have been doing Monty Roberts style training and he is doing great, the first day I got Join up and Follow Up from him and then we did vulnerable places and then i lounged him and he will let me pick up his feet and touch him all over.
Jim was thinking him and Sherry might bring Celeste and maybe one of the drum horses (for the non-rescue classes) and maybe Mo will be far enough along with Aida or Yuma. So this should be FUN!! Bryan was thinking if he had time maybe working with Norma Jean since him and her are pretty bonded.

I have a question....What is considered "proof of rescue"? I have never gotten a receipt or anything "proving" I adopted one. I suppose the Paypal receipt?? I didn't get the tax forms either. (DO NOT tell Adam. He would flip!)
MTA: Oops! I'm asking because this look super fun and I would love to go.

I am pretty sure they would just take your word for it. PS- If you ask for a reciept maybe they would send you one. I got one after the fact.

Yes, I liked the sounds of the Bribe your Horse class - I will have to work on teaching Lotti to follow me over obstacles. She is pretty attached, and if there isn't food laying around, she might actually follow me.................
Lotti jumps pretty good - her owner doesn't do so good, but manages to stay on - so the Hurry Scurry sounds like fun too!

So, Ashley, the rules say you can't touch your horse in the Bribe Your Horse, so does that mean no treats? I guess I assumed the 'bribe' part was offering treats - maybe you can offer them, but can't give them until after the course is completed? Who would we ask?

I have a great one for Oslo if I can pull it off ;D Katyk1 gave me these DVD's of Whispering Way Sylvia Scott and she has some great desensitizing tips and lessons, so I know he will not spook over his costume no matter how elaborate when we are done. That is one of the rules of the class, they can't spook.

Yes, I'm planning to enter the Costume Contest................that is contingent on Lotti agreeing...I will keep you posted. WendyP That will be awesome. Since there will be non-rescue people there....who may be looking for another good horse, I am going to make stall plaques for the HyTyme horses so people can see how beautiful rescue horses are! We should all do a little write up type plaque thing for each horse.

Great minds think alike!!! I was going to make some laminated stall signs that say.....
'MY NAME IS LOTTI, AND I WAS SLAUGHTER BOUND'
And then tell her story underneath. I think this could be very powerful, when they are standing in front of the actual horse.
I will also put some pics in of Doodle and Kasey and Cashmere and Plum (I think that's all we have?) and Max will probably be there, oh and Kodiak, and maybe some cards or flyers with CBER/RO info.

People at the Mane Event were in awe of the horses and I cannot count how many times someone said," I thought they only slaughtered old and crippled horses"

Toeps you can borrow one I am sure, we have Atticus (the only reason I wasn't using him is I want to use this as a chance to get some good experience under Oslo and expose him to this) and we also have Hope which would be a great horse to ride in the show since she needs adopting!

You don't have to have a rideable horse - there is Halter class, costume class, and bribe your Horse, and those are not riding classes!

Don't forget to send in your class entry forms. I posted several of them around the Oregon City, Gresham, Estacada area. I hope to see a lot of rescues there. I will be bringing my goats, Billy-Bob and Ralph. They are going to try to scare the beegeezus out of the horses in the trail classes..LOL, if your horses have never seen a goat, they will go, what the @#$% is that thing?

Hello all, I am going to make my best effort to get to this show and would love to meet you guys. If Atticus is bringing her horses I think maybe I could recognize them...or is there a better way to find you guys than accosting all the beautiful draft owners?

I have some of those stick on name tags and can bring them. We can write our BB name and our real name. Hopefully that will make it easy to find each other.
