count us in!!! I'll be bringing my two kids, 11 and 12... my sister, and Linika! We will tow in a trailer of 3 if the weather cooperates too! I'm thinking Sundance... Bob Marley, and Taffy! Taffy will give pony rides no problem... to the BIG and the SMALL!!! LOL!!! If someone wants I can switch out to Jet or Missy coming... just let me know!!!
Let's see... we'll bring dessert... how's that? we'll bring two things, since there are 5 of us... and wine...!!! we can bring that!
oh, and Taff and Bob Marley will tie, no problem... I think Sundance too... so we are good, no need for a stall.... I'll try to remember my portable pen if I can think that well... just in case... and our trailer has the Easy up Shelter always in there, as well as 5 or so chairs...

Ooh, I like your thinking, Nettle! Dessert first was my late grandmother's M.O. She said she wanted to eat it when she knew she'd enjoy it: on an empty tummy!

I'll be there too Hoping to drive up with Tockita, 'Lil Tockita (Beth - Kathy's daughter), Barbpurple, Mickeyfan, and working on Angi (trainer gal, used to work at LifeSaver's). Horses are staying home, so just people. I'll definitely bring BEER (my favorite), maybe some wine (not my favorite, so hopefully it will be decent ), and assorted salads; fruit, macaroni and potato. Sorry, kids, I can't cook, so must rely on store bought foods and an ice chest

Wow, this is going to be SO MUCH FUN!
I am planning to have nametags, so we can learn each other's REAL names!
For those who are bringing a horse (Beth & Peg, so far), please PM me a short paragraph about each horse's rescue story, when rescued, where, etc. I will be making up a little sign to go on each horse's stall. This will be a great way to share your horse's story with everyone.
We discovered some pipe panels in a stack. We are going to put up 2 12x12 paddocks. So we will have stabling for 5 horses. BTW, if you want to overnight your horses, you are welcome to do so. There are some great trails in the Santa Rosa area for Sunday riding.
One person asked about RV parking and hookups, which we are happy to provide. We can give you water and power.
Bring warm clothing and be prepared to dress in layers, as we never know how warm or cool it will be here. Our barn is a small breezeway model, so we can cozy up in there. If too cold, we will move into the house. Hopefully, the weather will be super.

Preparations for the May 19th Potluck in the Barn are under way at Watermark Farm!
Last night, I reminded my husband of the event. I told him about all the wonderful people who are coming from all over California! He got excited, saying "Let's do nametags!" I agreed, telling him "You can put your name, along with the names of horses you have rescued!" At this point, he scowled, and said "I guess I will need you to help me, because I don't know all their names."
Poor guy, he is so in denial about my horse-rescuing exploits! He referred to CBER Sunny as "that other horse."

Hi Katie, could the nametags show both our screen names and our real names? I still don't know a lot of folks by their real names and the link would help my aging brain!
You can also put me down for a veggie platter with hummus or some other dip for an appetizer, since the green salad is so easy.
My SO will be coming, please add her to the head count!
Hope

Thanks, Katie

Katie, I'm not a vegetarian but I don't eat anything with four legs (George Orwell: "Four legs good, two legs bad") but I do eat poultry. I can bring some turkey franks if you like, just post here and I'll get some when I shop for the salad.

Katja, bring tofu dogs if you can. That would save me a trip to Whole Foods. Gratefulknits, I've got the turkey dogs covered!

Brownies sound great, Beth. I am sure you can make them vegan, if you want. I am sure you can find recipies online. Brownies and wine would be perfect.
I think we have everything lined up. Going shopping this afternoon. Our new BBQ did come together, so I have to figure out that part. We may use a smaller BBQ, and just BBQ hot dogs, and cook something else in the oven.
EVERYBODY---- It's been pretty chilly around here in the afternoons. Just looked at the 7-day forecast and it is expected to be around 70 here on Saturday. We live in an open area that gets coastal breezes in the afternoons, which can make it feel 60 in a hurry. So we have decided that if it looks like it is going to be uncomfortably chilly in the late PM on Saturday, we will kind of shift the potluck into the house (which is all of 300 feet from the barn, so not a big deal). The thought of sitting around the barn, freezing our hineys off, does not sound like much fun!
Come prepared to dress in some layers ---- a fleece sweater and a jacket, etc. (do I sound like your mother, or what?)
We are looking forward to the gathering. Thank you everyone for all your efforts to bring this together and to make the trip to Santa Rosa.
