Wow! Here is a video of Dennis working with his horses...he is riding WITHOUT a bit or even a halter! I used to ride my Blue this way, too, but, without any special training from me, just loving and caring on my part. I am very interested in learning more from Dennis when I get another horse. I am extremely impressed! www.youtube.com/watch?v=yy2aR4RPbMkAmazing! Aimee

I have taken a few lessons from him. I liked him and his style alot. He started me in liberty work. He taught me some cool stuff that I have taught all my horses.
He is too far for regular lessons any more (I moved), but a clinic sounds like fun! Maybe I'll give him a call, say Hi and sign up for the clinic.
The arab in the video is his wife's horse. While she was gone on a trip, he taught the horse to rear on command. He was so excited to show her when she returned. When she figured out what he had done, she said "Make him stop doing that!" and walked away. LOL He was so proud and she was pissed! It was a very funny marital discourse. She has since forgiven him!

That Arab is beautiful (but I especially like the buckskin). It almost looks like the Arab is not quite thrilled with what's going on at times-but says, oh well, I'll humor this crazy human till that nice lady gets home.

I just checked his website...
I WANNA DO THAT!!!
I especially laughed at his question about horses nicking hay from you when you still have it in your hands.
uh...has he been watching me?? LOL!
I always "excused" it because Kaleigh was so skinny. She's not food aggressive (thankfully!) but she is definitely food obsessed. The real story? - I'm only "alpha" when it suits HER purposes. gah!
I wonder if he ever comes to CA.

Hi Sara, I live in Poulsbo and am thinking about going. Can I follow you or carpool? I have Codi (CBER Precious) and need to get her going. Do you know what the clinic is going to be about? She is not riding yet so I would like to work on her ground work. If there is riding I will probably not take her but may come watch. Thanks, Teresa

Hi Teresa. I'm not sure what the Dennis Wright clinic is covering, but for ground work you might check out the Ken McNabb clinic, next week and the following week at Black Raven Stables, Arlington: www.kenmcnabb.com/programs/3dayclinics.phpI don't have any particular affiliation with this clinic, but I did audit part of his clinic there last fall and have since had my horse in training with a couple of his certified folks.

Hi Heather - Unless I find a new trailer I am going to be full with just my kid I am bummed - just got the trailer for my birthday - but we have come to the conclusion I need a MUCH bigger trailer for Kadin. so - it is for sale If I find a different trailer before then you are more than welcome to car-pool. I talked to Dennis and he said we will most likely NOT be riding. This will be primarily stuff on the ground and if we did get to a riding section it would not be long. The Ken McNabb stuff is great I audited a clinic last year and learned alot. If I was further along with Kadin I might go do that - or if I had a QH to work with I woudl be going for sure. Sara in WA

Thanks for the info. I will check out Ken McNabb also. I have been doing Parelli for a while and have no one to practice with. I get really bored if I am doing it by myself. I guess I do because my gelding HATES being told what to do and when to do it. He has great ground manners anyway (most of the time) so I quit fighting with him and we are riding and he is alot happier. I started a little with Codi and she is doing great with it. I have all the Parelli levels and DVDs coming out my ears! So if anyone wants to get together sometime and to play Parelli I would love it. In the mean time I am going to different clinics to have some people to play with. I have gone to Port Angeles, there is a Parelli instructor there but with winter and my schedule it is hard to go as much as I would like.

I would love to get together sometime - I have watched alot of the parelli stuff, but haven't practiced all that much. I have worked on some of the games and Kadin knows most of them - especially how to hide his hinney My schedule is flexible. PM me if you want to set somethign up and I will give you my number and address I am always keen to learn new things:) I have a neighbor just a couple doors down that is a level 3 instructor - but i don't know them well and can't ever seem to meet up with them. I have been looking for an instructor closer to me. Port Angeles is a long way to go for an hour lesson. I would love to get their name and number. It would be fun to practice with a new friend.

Who's going to be at this clinic this weekend?
I'm going to be there along with Beth (highcountry), and Sara (cutiepiepmu). Who else?
Now to decide which horse to bring! I have too many choices!
