Cheval is ready to start looking for her permanent home. Chevy is approximately 6 months old and is by a Thoroughbred stallion out of a Percheron mare. She is dark gray now, but is shedding out to be a lighter gray. She is expected to mature to 17hh and have a heavy warmblood build. Chevy has most of her ground work done and is a nice and well mannered filly. She is easy to catch, lead, back, tie, groom, trim her feet, etc. Perhaps her best quality is her mind. She is sweet, intelligent and a real thinker. She doesn't spook at hardly anything, but when she does, she thinks through it she doesn't just panic. Where she is from... Two Percheron mares and their foals were rescued from the Hermiston sale by a friend. The mothers were very bad off and the foals were still nursing. The white mare died within a day or two and then the black mare nursed both foals, she started to recover and gain weight but then coliced and died. Chevy is available to a good home on a strict contract and hopefully $500 obo. You can read more about her here: hardluckhorses.com/DEF-Horse.asp?hoID=18

Tash, I want to congratulate you on a really great website! I really enjoy the assessments of the horses in your care and especially like the financial tally that you've posted beside each horse...you will do really well with this easy to read and navigate site!
Well done, Leanne

I LOVE Cheval! I've wanted this filly from the first time I saw her on here (right after you got her from the auction). She would make such a fantastic prospect for eventing for me when I am in college. (Now, to convince my parents!!)

Darn - too bad she isn't black She has a VERY similar build to Malibu - would be a nice driving mate to her if she were black... Good for you for being strict about her home Sara

She is a really great filly. As I was telling someone else, there just isn't enough good things that I can say about her. She is the best behaved horse I have and she has loads and loads of potential. She is intelligent, quick and agile. I have seen her free jump over 3' in the pasture.
My favorite thing about her is that she listens to you during a spook. The other day I had her tied while I was grooming her as I have done dozens of times before. A dog ran out of the house and ran between her legs while barking, which startled her. She jumped backwards and since she was tied that pulled on her head which didn't help. With a lot of horses things could have gotten real interesting real fast (although her halter was a break away), but with this six month old filly she continued to pay attention to me and so it was not a lot of drama. I clucked at her and she took two steps forward and suddenly there was no pressure. She immediately relaxed and we went back to grooming as though nothing had happened.
BTW, I just added a Guest Book to the website.
