I just posted a message on the SOS site in Betty's topic...
The boarding manager called me and told me that boarding is going up $20/month/horse starting next month and in fall it is jumping up again another $25/month/horse. This rise in board along with the cost of gas has caused me to need to find Betty a forever home by May 1st or a new foster home. I'm so sad about this new development :-( I had hoped to have Betty stay as long as she needed to in order to find a forever home. I've contacted a new boarding facility that is only 2 miles from my house rather than 18 miles and they only have 3 spaces available. I need to take those spaces, I can't afford $145 per month per horse for boarding along with the $60 per week for gas.
Any help would GREATLY be appreciated... Sue

Thanks for the link...that's where the horses are moving to this coming weekend. Betty is remaining at the previous facility until she finds the perfect home. I talked to the boarding manager where the horses are currently being boarded and she said they are only going up $10 per horse per month, but that's still an additional $40 per month on top of the $500 I'm already paying for boarding. I know to some that doesn't seem like $40 is that much more, but to me it means 4 bales of nice grass hay or close to a full tank of gas.
Thanks a bunch everyone for your understanding.
Sue
