Adoption fee: see below Missy was adopted in August 2006 and came to Livermore (near me) to live the good life. She's a really sweet mare, and while great for arena work or light trail riding, she's not made for endurance as her new mom had hoped. Belinda is looking to find a great home for Missy ASAP......She's going to forward some updated pics for me this week....in the meantime, here are her lot photos. She's a beautiful mare! Stacie (Belinda's message follows) Updated photos to be added shortly

Missy is a great horse,we have done quite a bit of riding since I got her, and she tries her best, rarely refusing even new tasks, she just not suitable for endurance and long trail hours. I have done a bit more research on her, she is 7 years old, had one colt in 2005. I am just wanting to have a good trail, endurance prospect. If anyone has a horse that might be suitable for my needs and would give Missy a good home, I might be interested in a trade. In the meanwhile I am continuing to ride her western pleasure, working on getting her into shape, and enjoying her. Belinda

I placed Missy here in hopes of finding her a new home and because I believe in the rescue. In fact someone has offered me to take her Arab Mare to save her from auction, but I am limited to my number of horses, so cannot place her if I do not have the room. I don't want to see her go to auction as she said she might need to do because they are moving and cannot take her. I am not wanting to see that happen. I have Missy for re adoption, and am willing to place her for $500.... If anyone is interested in her please contact me,asap, thank you

Hey everyone -
Belinda brought Missy to my barn the other day. She's been at a ranch with NO traffic, NO other people, NO dogs, just other horses. A guy at my barn is seriously considering her, but wants to be sure he'll be the best thing for her. (He looked like a kid on Christmas, he's new to horses but his girlfriend and her family are very good, caring horse people). I'm hoping he takes her, but if not...
She did GREAT!!!!! All of the dogs (all 10 of them) barked while she was in the arena, it was commute time so there was tons of traffic, lots of people, boarders cars coming in and out, and she took it al in stride. Curious, but no adverse reactions. Bill and Allison both rode her, as did Belinda, and she did great.
I should add that my horse, Reno, and my friends horse, Touch, noticed the stunning mare right off the bat and were big ol' goofballs falling over themselves to impress her. She seemed to really like our barn and everything going on there, but just in case he decides that he's not 100% ready (I like this guy....very mature and wanting what's best for her) she'll be a great horse for anyone. She's young, so some training might be good, but she listens well.

And did I mention she's just a sweetheart and wants someone to love? She'd be a great only horse for someone - she is one that I think would thrive like that. If Bill does take her he's planning to go into training with her.....she aims to please.

I am still asking only $800 for her, she will be getting new shoes next week, and will be ready to go, meanwhile still working on fun rides while looking for the endurance prospect...

Thanks Kerry I replied. Missy is doing very well this winter, getting new shoes subday. I just want to see her go to a good home where she will have more time devoted to her. I am currently training for endurance so she is on a holiday while I work my Arab. Did I mention she is good even for a teen, my son(14) rode her all last summer, so stands, ties, loads and is very quiet. She never freaks out, I came up to the corral one day and she had put her foot through the 4 rail panel, but she was calm just standing there waiting for me to help. I have no idea how long she was like that. She is just a big love bug, I am willing to go lower on the rehoming fee for the right person... would also consider a local lease.
