Remember the fat little bay mare from August of '06, she was adopted by a nice lady here in Southern California. Unfortunately she has had some unfortunate changes in her life, and is now looking for a good home for Corona.
Corona still has a lot of go for her 22 years, she wouldn't recommend her for a beginner's child, but she should be okay for leadline, or an intermediate child/adult.
Here is the ad she posted for her. Corona is located in Ramona, CA. If anybody up north is interested, I can help with maybe getting a horsey shuttle going, but not until November, as my travel and work schedule is crazy for the next month.
Let me know if you're interested, and I can put you in touch with the owner

and here is the ad:
Due to recent changes in my situation I am forced to make some difficult decisions. As hard as it is I have to do what is best for my animals, so I have decide to downsize.
A little over a year ago AQHA Miss Star Pine AKA "Corona" was sitting on a feedlot in Wa awaiting shipment to the slaughter house. I adopted her along with another horse and had them shipped down here. She was 100 lbs overweight and had not seen a farrier in some time. Since that time She has had her feet done every 8 weeks, is current on her shots and has recently had her teeth done. She is sweet old girl, that likes attention and gets along with all the other horses . It is suspected that she had been used primarily as a brood mare and when she did not get pregnant was taken to the feedlot. She was reportedly a kids horse but that has not been confirmed. She still has a lot of go for her age and might do well for a child with some experince, but she has not been ridden in a long time and her actual training has never been evaluated.
She is about 14'2 and was born in 1985. She is a Peponita Pine Daughter and a Two eyed Jack granddaughter. She would make a great companion horse or a horse for light riding. With a tuneup and a little conditioning she may make a great kids horse. She has windpuffs on the rear which I am told indicates she was used hard at one time, but they don't seem to bother her. I have not had any lameness or other health issues with her since she arrived. She has good ground manners and is just a sweet old girl that deserves to live out her days with love.
I am looking to find her a good home, that will not try to breed her and that will give her the time that she deserves. Asking for an Adoption fee of $500.00. This amount is negotiable to an outstanding home, only. A great home is my primary concern and I am willing to work out an adoption agreement/ feed lease etc. I will require a Home check and references.
If you have any questions please feel free to email me.
If your interested please send me an email. Tell me about yourself, Age, your horse experince etc. Why you are interested in my old girl and why you would be a great home for her.
Thanks
