Belle is a 12 year old Sorrel QH mare, 15 h, 1100 lb stocky girl.
she was rehabbed from an old unhealed wire cut, that has healed well, and stayed nice for a few months now, so she is looking for a new riding partner!
Belle is cattle broke, she was rescued 3 or so years ago now from the 101 auction in CA, a cattle only auction. She came in with a dispersal sale of steers.
I know little more about her, but a beginner got her, had lots of treatment for her leg wound, but didn't keep it bandaged at all, so it never healed...
Anyway, we've had her for 1 1/4 years now, she is such a dear, no naughtyness, tacks up great, but light as a feather when you are on... neck reins, and acts like a reining horse, ready to go right or left with a weight shift...
very people friendly, great with her legs.... stood stock still for wound care for a year every night... not even swatting a fly.
she is the first to run to the gate for loves (or food!)
She is an easy keeper (read : fatty) needing no special care except for sand clear monthly.
She has a single 'vice' that she paws if she is impatient, slow, deliberate like knocking on the door... mostly in the air... and mostly extinguished now. :-)
She loads, bathes, ties, soaks, you name it, great with farrier (barefoot).... just needs a new rider.
High School Rodeo? Barrels? she is totally sound (always was...) and ready to go go go!
kind gentle home wanted, she is a special girl for putting up with humans leaving her un-treated for so long but still loving us anyway.... she needs to be repaid in kindness....
special consideration to a RO board member approved adopter!!!
